grilled tomatoes

has anyone ever grilled a tomato whole? I have some nice ones from the market and thinking this could be a tasty side with a ribeye? how exactly did you go about this? parmesan cheese on top?

ive seen maters explode.... but yes, i grill'em. they are good grilled with some fresh mozz on top. I typically half them, grill skin side down on indirect heat. Fresh herbs are good on maters n cheese too.

Persian restaurants grill whole tomatoes on the end of their kebabs. Delicious mashed and mixed with your rice.
