Spinoff thread.Why the blacks have not figured it out that Dems are using them?

blacks are urban citizens, and urban citizens of every race vote dem. Rural blacks are more republican.

Those that are getting free stuff feel like they are beating the system and don't see themselves as pawns.

Blacks are largely urban, and most lower class urban citizens vote dem. Everyone in that group has somewhat of a reliance on the government, and thus why that is the case.

Yep. They know the D's suck but there's a widespread perception that Republicans hate them. Why would you vote for someone who hates you?

The GOP is partially (not entirely) responsible for that perception. Too many Republicans talk about minorities instead of to them. Rand Paul is proof that they're willing to listen, and the GOP needs more candidates like him. Doesn't mean the majority of black voters will agree with him on everything, but he can highlight points of agreement, and his brand of small government is more beneficial to minorities than the establishment's brand of big government.

You have to realize that Barry Goldwater and Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, David Duke, Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms didn't really give them a lot of reason to vote Republican.

That of course is BS. Duke was a bigot just like Jesse Jackson.

It was Eisenhower who put forth the first civil rights act that democrat LBJ led the assault on to ensure it was defeated. It was Sen. Dirksen that delivered almost every republican vote in the Senate for the act. Goldwater opposed only the parts of the act that applied to private businesses. Dirksen did more than any democrat including that evil SOB LBJ to pass the act.

I admit republicans have been slow, thank goodness, to pass out welfare and privilege based on skin color like the democrats have but republicans have not been racists.
