Long time lurker here.

I've seen a lot of posts very critical of Miles and his philosophy regarding offense and QB play specifically.

I wonder, hover, if those criticisms are accurate or if the offense we see is a result of having bad QBs.

I think Miles should be roundly criticized for QB recruiting and development, but I also think he knows just how bad we are at that position and the offense reflects that.

Is it pretty? No
Is it effective? Not really, at least not against good teams
Is it the best we can do right now? Probably

The real question is can we beat either of the next 2 opponents with the type of QB play we have?

I think we stand a better shot against OM than Bama. The reason is that I think Ole Miss (and Bo Wallace specifically) is more likely to make mistakes and beat themselves than Bama.

I've seen some improvement, particularly defensively, in LSU the let 2 weeks. I just don't think we are good enough on offense to do better than 202 over the last 4 games.

Yeah, I think it's the best we can do with what we have. I don't think that is something to be relieved about though.

I am glad I do not pay for season tickets last night was my first game in years. I am very glad we won but for the money we pay to les and cam it is really boring. I like the youth we have and the future seems to be right but his philosophy better get a little more imagination

I cringed last night when Musburger called us Bo Schembechler football. Guess this 2014 LSU team would have been awesome in 1965.

I think Jesse Palmer was trying to say it would be difficult to win against Ole Miss and Bama playing the same kind of offensive football we played against Florida and Kentucky. He tried to be diplomatic but that was his meaning.

We'll see what happens going forward.

Les just wants a QB to manage the game and not turnover the ball. He will always favor the running game over the passing game. Right or wrong, that's how he is wired.

I agree. Thats's why I am so concerned about the next 2 games and the next couple of seasons to be honest.

I think what we've seen this year is what we can expect next year and perhaps the year after.

Hope this offseason, one of them has a light go off

I don't think that's true. JR and Mett were much more than game managers. And even Matt Flynn could be counted on occasionally to be a playmaker and win a game occasionally.

Right now, we don't even have a good game manager. I think all the I formations and predictable play calling are the result of Les and Cam trying to hide the Qb and minimize turnovers.

It works against teams Like UK and Florida, but we saw what happens vs really good teams. And our next 2 games are vs really good teams.

Idk about that. We had an incredible rushing attack last year and threw the ball all over the field, on first and second downs. 3000 yard passer and 2 1000 yard recievers. When we can pass, we will pass

Yes. That's the point I was trying to make in this thread.

Unfortunately, we will need to pass to have a chance in the next 2 games. And I just don't see us being able to do it.

I guess that makes me a bad fan and a negater.

I hope I'm wrong and we find a way to move the ball through the air, or find a way to not need to, but realistically I don't see it happening.

I'm at the point even though I believe Harris is the future. It doesn't matter to me who's in. I jus wish they would use some of things we used in the SH game. Even though it was a way weaker opponent it at least showed we have the capability to run a little hurry up spread and QB option to spread the defense out a little bit. You can say it fits more to both QB anyway.

I agree with you. My response was to the guy above you saying les only wants to throw when he needs to
