From a visitor's perspective, night games should never stop there. It's an incredible experience the way it is.

In fact, I wake up earlier to start drinking on days with night games than I do for class. That goes for TAMU games as well.

Lock the gates

Better yet lock the parking lots. You don't need to leave to beat traffic if you can't get out till the game ends anyway

They basically are locked with the gridlock.

I say that we start games at 4pm so that those who like Saturday Night in Death Valley have to stay till the 4th quarter to experience it.

Frankly, nobody cares what you say. The money givers (ESPN and CBS) decide the game times. They don't mind scanning the stadium and making light of the fact that it's half empty. Gives them something to talk about.

430 or 5 would probably be ideal. The games take forever. A game that starts at 5 still won't end until 9.

I stay because I still have friends I can stay with that allow me to walk home, but I can't imagine wanting to go through the trouble long term if I wasn't able to stay so close to the stadium.

I don't understand why LSU doesn't do some type of marketing campaign using Les and some of the players about people leaving early. I think it would help

FWIW, people would stay longer if we had day games. I agree.

I think it is pretty clear what has evolved over the last 10 or so years here.

1) Tailgating has taken over as the top priority on game day. It is no longer the football game itself that is most important to many people.

2) With tailgating being the king, people want to maximize their tailgating time. Having night games does this...it means longer to tailgate before the game starts.

3) Many of the people who bitch about day games only want the games to be at night so it doesn't interfere with tailgating. They couldn't give two fricks about tradition.

4) In their fierce effort to prove how much of a tailgate warrior they are, most fans wear themselves out by the time kickoff rolls around and can't last the whole game.

I really think in the autumn months, 2:30 is the optimum time for the game as it relates to people showing up and actually staying the longest time.

For sure.

Plus, people leave to get home earlier, students leave to party, etc.

Not many worries when it comes to that if the game is ending at 6:00.

I have tickest in 102 and you'd think we blow out everyone because it's pretty empty by the 4th qtr. Traffic doesn't bother me I just walk home. If it is a blow out I leave in time to get to Fat Cow for a burger.

Start selling beer in the 3rd qtr and people might stay. Lol

Beer is the simple, lucrative solution. Which means it won't happen.

There's still plenty of lifelong real true Tiger fans out there (myself included) that believes in college tradition and LSU tradition means something to me. It's about tailgating all day with excitement because you can't wait until it's finally time to start walking towards your gate at Tiger Stadium. Saturday Night Games In Tiger Stadium is a part of LSU tradition.

So, for me personally the obvious answer to the question for the thread is.... NO! I honestly believe that if the night games were moved up to 3 pm or 5 pm it still would not keep our early exit fans in their seats for 4 quarters.
Seriously? It's 7 nights a year IF you're lucky. frick you dude
This is where I tend to agree with many people who have made this point. It's mindblowing that there's that many fans that can't endure for only a few times a year..... some traffic, LSU winning by alot, LSU losing by alot or I'm sobering up now & bored. Football season is fairly short with LSU playing 12 regular season games. Luckily, we get 7 of those games here at home in Tiger Stadium. These kids that play for LSU love their school and enjoy nothing more than getting to play at home in front of their fans who support them. Half of their fans have walked out on them during the 3rd QTR when they were getting beat by 20 pts and the same half walked out again when they were winning by 20 pts. These kids have been walked out on now every home game this year before the 3rd QTR has finished. This includes 2 SEC games and one of those games almost included the biggest 2nd half comeback win in LSU history which only the few remaining fans witnessed.
