The Black Party seeks to increase turn out for Landrieu

It's just a fact that most democrats in Louisiana are black. That is true throughout the South. There are a relatively few white democrats. The democrats recognize that and know that black turnout is essential to Landrieu's success.
Landrieu is doing her part. She is organized.
The New York Times has a good article on the importance of black turnout to democrats. LINK
an exert about Louisiana.
I don't see such a game plan by republicans.

quote:
In Louisiana, where Senator Mary L. Landrieu appears headed for a runoff in a three-candidate race, Democrats worked to enlist more than 600 black and religious leaders to help with voter registration. On Sunday, Ms. Fudge and her caucus members will visit black churches there, beginning a bus tour of six Senate battleground states. They will promote early voting, which begins in Louisiana on Tuesday.
On the campaign trail, Ms. Fudge said, she can defend the president in a way Ms. Landrieu and other Democrats cannot. “I look at it this way,” she said. “I have a better opportunity to convince a black voter to vote than they do.”
Big-name surrogates are also stepping in. Former President Bill Clinton, hugely popular with black voters, is in Arkansas this weekend, with stops in his birthplace, Hope, and the heavily African-American cities of Pine Bluff and West Memphis. He goes to Baton Rouge, La., on Monday.
I don't see such a game plan by republicans.

Maybe they can enlist the help of the White Party?

Landrieu can't win with Black votes alone, she needs to get 25-30% of the White vote.

They're not going to work to turn out a voting bloc that is voting someone else. There is not much Republicans can do to get the black vote.

All of my family members are Dem.'s in La. but will not vote for Landrieu. They will not vote for anyone that helped Obama with his liberal programs. They will vote GOP and not like it. They are all old Long Dem.s,but can't vote for Mary. It may be a statewide feeling.

Getting the blacks to the voting booth on election day has been a prime directive of the Democrat Party since 1964, at least.
So, I don't think that any of the Dems running for office next month are going to be bringing anything new to bear in this effort.
The Dems know very well to fire up the buses and bring 'em to the polls with a free lunch.

its amazing how much the left embraces black churches when they need them, while mocking white church members on the right

Do the democrats still pay the chruches to bus voters and give them free chicken and jambalaya dinners?

She needs all of her voters to turn out. Republicans are the party that relies on a single demographic to win (crazy paranoid white males and their wives).

Obama got only 12% of the non black vote in Louisiana.

Is that her real name? A black lady named "Ms. Fudge"? That's like a white man named Mr. Vanilla.

The reverse is even more true. Republicans despise Black religious ministers.

It sounds like White Louisianans vote in blocks, doesn't it?

Father White was a black priest in Baldwin for many years.

It's "blocs," and people from Louisiana are right to vote against that turd, Obama. He made it clear from the outset that he is no friend to oil and gas industry.

Interesting. The Georgia black vote number is about the same as the overall Georgia population % that's black. The North Carolina number is half that of it's total black population %.
Louisiana black population % is 30.4%. So if 30.4% of this year's electorate is black, and assuming they all vote for Landrieu (Cassidy should get at least 5-10% of that vote, but let's say Landrieu gets all of it for the sake of argument), she needs just over 28% of everyone else to win. Which I'm not sure is possible.
