I think the most infuriating thing is that Jameis Winston has a seventh grade intellect and judgement skills of a sassafras stump, yet he is allowed to stay there and get an education because of his athleticism, while there are kids out there with so much academic potential and talent who don't have the privilege of attending college. In fact, Jamies the Thug is a living embodiment of the dark side of the dominance athletics has over academics at many university. No one seriously can think Winston is deserving of a college degree. He is a mentally deficient meathead who will advance because sports are sadly more important than intellectualism and refinement of knowledge at FSU.

Don't destroy me for mixing the issues, but FSU right now is like watching the President. It's amazing how much crap is going on around them and they're just pretending it's all not real.

People who provide value to someone else are able to get away with more than those that don't. That goes for all walks of life, not just college football.

well, I was actually pulling for FSU last night. My reasoning is that ND has the easier path to the final four and there is a chance Winston doesn't finish the season.

Just to play Saban's advocate--FSU is preparing Jameis for his career, which is the same thing it's doing for the non-athlete students. It's kind of silly that with football and MBB, we don't admit that the players are really majoring in athletics.

Good point.

I'm sorry but this is BS. You think Winston got to be a 5* QB by sitting on his couch eating Ring Dings and ho-hos? You don't think he worked for what he has? He wasn't given shite.

Also a good point.

A lot of butt hurt in here.

Bama was the despicable program before this year, remember?
I don't.

Bama was disliked, but they weren't "Despicable."
From all accounts, Saban runs a relatively clean program.

it's baffling how so many people don't realize how the current model, which is probably nearing 100 years old or something, doesn't remotely fit the current landscape of college athletics.

Yeah BUT
Educationally Im sure Winston and other athletes at other schools will leave the same "stumps" they were when they got there.

Also, when is the last time the Math Dept brought in the Millions that sport do.

Besides thats always been that way. The real travesty is that there are no longer amateur sport in College Football. Just Minor League NFL Clubs

This is why LSU fans don't like Les Miles......He still runs it more like a college team when what the fans want is a minor league team that can compete for championships

It seems that most people giving Winston a bad rep assume that he is guilty of the rape charges. The police investigated the incident twice and came up with nothing.

The Crab legs are a legit issue and he was kicked off the baseball team for it.

The union incident was nothing imo. When I was in school, people did ridiculous things in the union and quad all the time like what Winston did. Its college.

Everything seems to boil down to the rape case and people assuming he was guilty. Its crazy how much hate a 20 year old college kid gets.

There is a lot that's wrong with Jameis Winston, but the kid is a hell of a good quarterback.

He wasn't kicked off the baseball team. Just suspended for a few games.

Right, the "police" who were shown to have terribly mishandled that rape case from the start. Please the read the article below. As the saying goes, where there's smoke, there's fire.

I dont like JW but he is more talented at what he does best than 99.99999999% of the people on this planet are at what they do best. He also happens to thrive in a field that a ton of people care a great deal about.

He is a special talent.
