What specifically is White Privilege doing to hold blacks back?

Black privilege: People automatically assume you can dance and have a huge penis.

Not as much today as 50 years ago. Fewer opportunities, less room for error. It is much more likely that a black man gets a longer sentence for the same crime as his white brother. That alone is a pretty big deal......

At least they're not being nasty to each other while talking about a controversial issue that needs to be addressed.

Blacks used to have legit reasons when it came to worrying about what many Whites might do to them. Today, that's not the case so much. If I'm not mistaken, the stats show Blacks are more of a danger (Higher %) to other Blacks than White folks are today. You can't take how the environment was years ago, and use it to tackle a problem today. Until that understanding is had from all sides, real progress that happen won't happen within the Black & White communities.

Sometimes it has taken someone's own race/kind calling out the wrong doing or mistakes being made
* Just like good Whites called out Evil Whites back in the day when Blacks where done way wrong pre-1970's.
* Just like the good Christians called out bad Christians who felt the need to burn accused witches.
* Just like good Blacks call out bad Blacks in that Hollywood movie called "Friday".
* Just like good Men called out bad Men who thought controlling and beating Women was right.
* Just like good people calling out bad people who beat up someone just for being gay.
* Just like good Christians called out bad Christians, within the church, that felt squishing someones legs in a vice was right.
* There are many other examples of this throughout Human History

It will take other good Black folk to stop with the excuses and maybe say..... "Sure we've had bad things happen to our race in the past, and this causes challenges indeed, but to harp on this forever is not doing us or anyone else any favors". From what I can tell, there's nothing holding anyone back in this nation today. How many more years is enough to make up for what happened years ago. My family went through total hell because of others actions in 1938-1945, and my grandfather was killed then. My Grandfather died trying to save others, and this had to effect my families fortune going forward. I've asked myself this following question. Do I have the right to ask all the families of the people who killed my grandfather for retribution for that? I don't think I do, not after so many years. Those people who didn't do anything would be punished for something they didn't even do. I can't do that to someone for something their sorry ancestors did. Plus, what about the families who lost their white ancestors trying to free the slaves. Do they get retribution for their extra suffering caused by their families loses?

This seems to always fall back on
Two wrongs don't make a right

Its not a big deal if you don't do the crime.

A person makes his or her own success through hard work, discipline, sacrifice, etc… This is no secret it is just hard to do. Stop making excuses and get to work people…

Minimizing the lack of parenting in the black community is a damn joke. They have the POWER to change there own circumstance as it comes from within. However, that takes a maturity to look at self and do something about it

More bullshite and lies from you.

Are there some different sentencing laws for blacks and whites? No, there aren't. The disparity in sentencing comes from prior convictions. If a white man and a black man are convinced of the same crime, and one is a first time offender and the other has an extensive criminal record, who do you think will get a longer sentence?

Take your lies and bullshite elsewhere where someone might believe you.

Yea, I was privileged to have my parents. Can't deny they're both white.

debate on white privilege
Political correctness.
Unfortunately, White Privilege is also a premise which requires inherently racist underpinnings. Receipt of privilege dictates the provision of it. For White Privilege to be an active element today, those granting it must by definition be granting it to whites. By definition they must then be racist. Likewise, those upon whom the said privilege is conferred must by nature be either greedy, racist, or so ignorant as to be unaware of supposed advantages being bestowed. It is an inherently ugly and offensive thesis.

The problem with political correctness is the only thing separating it from political incorrectness are the politics of the moment. For example, Jon Stewart is Jewish. He works in an industry disproportionately represented, some would even say dominated, by Jews. Is he willing to initiate a "Jewish privilege" argument. 80 years ago that was exactly the argument being made . . . against Jews.

Every time you meet a black person, you must get on your knees and beg forgiveness for having had parents who made you study and taught you right from wrong. Then give them your wallet.

The term is what I disagree most with.

PRIVILEGE
quote:

a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group of people.

Find me a law on the books that supports this and we can have a honest discussion.

They are more advanced than we so what their society does doesn't apply here.

I'm too old for such a physical maneuver.

I never go against my parents.

Will only happen when a piano falls out of my arse playing "who'd a thought it".

Other than that. I'm open for suggestions.

If Blacks want to blame anyone for their disadvantage they need look no further than their parents if they can figure out who their daddy is. We are all a result of nature and nurture and the family is the key. Cognitively deficient people don't have sharp children as a rule. Being brought up by violent, indolent, surly people doesn't promote the ability to function in a civil society. Our society is very open and intelligence and effort can still find reward. The stupid and lazy depend on the state and the guilt of others. (This applies to dysfunctionals of all races, the proportions just vary widely among races.)

Jon Stewart is not Black. In fact, "white privilege" is largely a white argument.

True, but reparations for slavery and 'blacks cannot be racist' are inventions by black professors.

I especially find the latter amusing. It's based on 'you cannot be racist unless you have political power to act on your racism. Minorities don't have that political power'.

By that standard it is impossible for a white person living in any African nation to be a racist.
