I've only seen the end of the KY/UF and the first quarter of the KY/ULM game. I've heard quite a bit about their offense. What should LSU expect from the KY defense?

That's all Les needs. I guess the Tigers will feed KY a steady diet of rock pounding.

To be fair, how many shitty run defenses have we faced, and not ran all over the last few years?

LSU should expect Kentucky's defense to get dominated, demoralized, and curbstomped. SHOULD!

Your right, screw it, our offense never looks bad against bad defenses

They have some tackling issues IIRC. Fournette should run like a wild man tonight.

Total D: 7th in the SEC
Scoring D: 5th
Rush D: 8th
Pass D: 3rd

They are a mid-tier SEC defense that is better at defending the pass than the run. The secondary is a veteran unit -- 3 returning starters plus JUCO transfer AJ Stamps (difference maker). The weakness is at DT. They just don't have a solid nose tackle to play the 3-4 right now.

They play a 3-4 base, but frequently switch to a 3-3-5 or 4-2-5 nickel package (a lot like LSU). They like to move SLB/DE Bud Dupre around the field. He is their best player. They also like to use their nickel back as an "in-the-box" tackler and leave their safeties in coverage.

In all, UK's D is much improved. They are fast and they play hard for Stoops. Their strengths and weaknesses are comparable to LSU's, although they play a different scheme.

we always manage to have great running backs- just rarely have the blockers to go along with them. It is frustrating to talented runners get stacked up way more often than not.

I wonder how well LSU will defend the KY wildcat. SEC Now made it look pretty formidable.

We haven't defended it well yet. But we've faced a couple of offenses with elite dual threat QBs.
