To be clear.

Careful not to reveal anything about the patient’s identity, Civale emphasized the patient had only screened positive (i.e., reported risk factors and showed symptoms that could indicate an infection) for Ebola, but had not yet tested positive for the virus.
See how misleading titles can be?

"Screened positive" makes it sound like it is confirmed. It isn't.

Will there be an article and thread for every person who shows up to a hospital claiming they have Ebola?

This patient was elevated because its believe he had contact with Thomas Duncan and traveled to West Africa which is why he was transferred from Baylor to Presbyterian Hospital.

He is the only patient to be transferred to Presbyterian Hospital out of all of the other Ebola. Let's see how the Presbyterians screw this one up too.

The main thing that concerns me about this is what is the risk factor that helped give a positive screening. Is it someone from West Africa or is it someone associated with one of the nurses or Texas Presbyterian?

Positive Screening is a wide net of criteria but this particular patient not only met the criteria but he exceed the factors due to contact & travel plus symptoms which is why he is the only one thus far to be transferred to the Presbyterian Hospital.

They are awaiting Blood confirmation right now.

That didn't even happen here, did it?

I would like an Ebola thread.

I believe that was the same story that came up when it turned out to be a guy from the sheriff's office who flipped a light switch in Duncan's apartment. And Duncan died on the 8th, so this would be very close to the end of the 21 day period.

Reports are it is someone who had contact with Thomas Duncan and traveled from West Africa as well. CBS 11 reporter working on that aspect. CBS 11 JD Miles seems to indicate this is a real deal patient not a false alarm.

Yep, and a post on here and the OT too. But when it turns out to be a false alarm, 98% of the time no updates will be done.
Must..... push.....fear!

This Baylor one seems as it may be legit though if the news source is to be believed.

I am expecting another positive case reported in the next 24-48 hours. That case involves a healthcare worker or someone associated with one. I wonder if this is that case.

That's two of Dallas' biggest hospitals.

Surprised that it hasn't yet hit at Parkland (the county hospital for charity cases).
