Ron Klain...whoever the frick that is.

Isn't the prevalence of "czars" by this bunch an admission that the actual agencies/departments that should be dealing with these issues are grossly incompetent?

I don't give a damn if Jesus Christ himself called for a czar. If the people that should be handling this can't, fricking fire them and put someone in who can. Instead, the incompetents keep their jobs, and an unaccountable apparatchik is put in a position of authority.

So you think putting one guy in charge of coordinating the many international, national, state and local health organizations and agencies is a bad thing?

Meanwhile you propose we ban all flights from Liberia when there are no direct flights from Liberia and you complain that we're sending troops to build 17 clinics to combat Ebola and try to contain it.

I think had Obama done the opposite you'd be bitching

Who is this guy? What did he do prior to being put in this position?

For clarification - Ron. When I first saw Roger Klain I thought it was code for our own Roger Klarvin.

"President Obama on Friday appointed Ron Klain, a former chief of staff for Vice Presidents Al Gore and Joseph R. Biden Jr., as Ebola “czar” to manage the government’s response to the deadly virus as anxiety grew over its possible spread, according to a White House official.
Mr. Klain is known for his ability to handle high-stakes and fast-moving political crises. He was the lead Democratic lawyer for Mr. Gore during the 2000 election recount."

So, no medical knowledge?

What a glowing resume.

We have one person who is supposed to do those things. He ran for the position and was elected to it. His name is Barack Obama, and he appointed people to run all those agencies for him. They serve in those positions at his pleasure.

Appointing "czars" is merely an attempt to shield himself from accountability for failing to adequately supervise the people he appointed and/or from the unsatisfactory performance of the people he appointed. It allows Obama to avoid expressing displeasure and acknowledging he appointed people incapable of doing what the public expects of them.

Gore LOST that fight in 2000 if memory serves me right. Brilliant choice Barry! Not only a lackey, but not even a good one.

It'd be really nice if Obama and his supporters could stop thinking of ebola as a "political crisis."

Please show me where I have called for this, or even implied there are direct flights from Liberia. Others may have, I have not.

I have stated that no person from these countries, or with a stamp on their passport showing travel into these countries in the last 2 months, should be let into the USA until they have been quarantined for at least 21 days (either at point of departure, or at terminus).

Sorry, but US troops should not be anywhere near this. Period.

Well that certainly qualifies him to be in charge of coordinating a response to a virulent pathogen.
