Monty deserves the questions, but Roberts did not take his minutes, Aminu did. And Monty admitted last year multiple times he was trying to figure out what to do with Tyreke, and according to both of them, they are now on the same page. If Tyreke is getting 25 MPG or less this season I think torches and pitchforks will be in fashion again.

Roberts took a good bit of back up PG mins that could have been filled by Reke or EG. just saying.

"Trying to figure out what to do with him" is just an excuse rather than saying "i f'd up". Monty couldnt figure out that he was your 2nd/3rd best player?? Come on man.

It almost seemed like Monty was trying to limit mins as if Reke was a fragile player with an injury history. If anything seems like you would use that strategy with EG. Not to mention EG probably would be a better fit as 6th man instant offense off the bench.

Just because he f'd up doesn't mean the reason he gave for f'ing up wasn't true. I completely believe that he didn't know what to do with what he probably saw as a SG that couldn't shoot. Not to mention that Monty is big on needing to build trust with a guy and he and Tyreke seemed to be doing a little head butting at the beginning of their relationship.

I said at the time and still believe that the move to bench Aminu in favor of Tyreke was a directive from above. And once Tyreke got the starting role and blew up, not even Monty could be blind to how Tyreke should be used.

I guess. Monty definitely is the stubborn type Though its not like Reke was some kind of mystery before coming here.

I watched Tyreke a lot in Sacramento, and he can definitely be a two-edged sword. Yes, he can attack the basket and draw defenses in. He was never much of a guy to look for open shooter on the perimeter. And, Tyreke is not a good shooter. He relies on his great athleticism, but does not work at playing the "right" way (that is, inside a system). So, he'll look great often, but when you look at the scoreboard you'll find that you're behind. He hasn't been able to make others around him better. There's a reason why he's not in Sacramento any longer.

Having said that, of course it's very possible for guys to improve, and maybe that's what we'll see with him this year. I hope so, 'cause I'd like to see him setting up Jimmer and the other strong shooters for easy, highly-efficient shots.

Ajinca is a good rotational player. He needs to rotate in with Davis and Asik a few minutes a game.

I'd kind of like to see how Reke, Rivers, Jimmer, Ryno, Ajinca would play together off the bench. A lot of room for Rivers and Reke to work.

I just get concerned if we have more than 3 of our core 6 out of the game at 1 time. Our squad has a ton of position flexibility so It is not necessary to play an inferior player just to fit a traditional backup role.

Last year he had both a career high usage rate and a career high assist percentage. LINK I think there's more to his game than the "good numbers on a bad team" he's shown most of his career. He used to have a reputation as selfish and not wanting to pass, but he seems like quite the willing passer as long as he's not on a fast break.

Yes, he does need to be more willing to give it up on the fastbreak a little more.
