It seems everyone is getting frustrated over this years recruiting cycle. It might be a good time to load up on high 3 and low 4 star players that we can keep for 5 years. With the recent NFL purge it might be good to get a full class and redshirt the majority to insure veteran depth down the road and not have to depend on 18 yr old freshman to be our leaders. It's good to have those 4th yr juniors and 5th yr seniors on your roster. Look at the difference in Mett from his r soph. season to his senior season.

I get what you're trying to communicate but the number of stars does not necessarily dictate who will leave early and who won't. It's all about who develops in the program and who does not.

For instance, Lael Collins was the #1 Tackle in his class and he stayed. Mo Claiborne was a 3* that left early.

I can't wait for miles to say he passed on some really good 3 year guys so he could load up on less talented players in this class.

Yeah let's get all 3 stars and see how far we get.

we already have a bunch of 3 star players. but, I wouldn't save spots for next year. take the bet players you can get and develop them. 25 in any one year is enough and we don't need to save spots.

Are you sure about this? We added back JUCO's Jevonte Domond and Colin Jeter to the 2014 class which made a total of 25 including Valentine.

I'm not at all saying not to recruit top players. What I'm saying is to take a full load and not leave any empty spots. I know we filled two spots with juco guys after the cycle but the last few years it seems we've taken less than 25 guys per year.

Not trying to give you shite bro but I have to disagree.

2014 - 25
2013 - 27
2012 - 21
2011 - 21

2010 - 28
2009 - 25
2008 - 25
2007 - 26

Only in two of the last eight years we've taken less than 25 commits. LINK

And we are feeling the pain of those 2011 & 2012 classes now.

NOBODY passes on good players to get lesser players who will stay longer. And there is no way to figure that out anyway.

2012 is the only problem. 2011 was loaded with offensive talent. Even though Hill was technically a 2012 commit, he was for the 2011 class, and his 5 year clock started in 2011.

Just from that class

Hill
Mett
Landry
Beckham
L. Collins
Rasco
Freak
Turner
J. Collins
Magee
Martin
Thomas

We've gotten a lot of good production out of that class. Now there were some misses like every class has, but I wouldn't consider those, or the fact that we took a smaller class, as a reason for so much youth this year.

That was all on the 2012 class, and having so many great talents leave early.
