Yet another back pain doc question? Bacas pain management centers?

Anyone with experience with these? There are several locations around Houston. They intrigue me as their staff includes MD's and chiropractors along with anesthesiology for procedures. I am looking for minimally invasive. I re ally do not want injections. Chiropractic adjustment. Therapy. And yes god forbid when it is bad, a pain pill.
Since they have chiro I assume they do not immediately jump to steroid injections. I don't want to be that guy. Nor do I want to be MS Contin guy.
I want to find a decent place. I feel dirty just typing this. "Pain management" and I see trailer houses, Marvin the Martian t-shirts, and babies running around in diapers only.
Tiger Fred has replied to one of these and mentioned a Dr. White. I looked her up. She's in Sugarland. Fred mentioned she doesn't really do meds. Does she only do injections. This shite is for the birds.

Why not injections? They worked for me, zero pain pills.

How long have you been hurting, and what other providers have you seen for your condition?

Any practicing D.O.'s in the area ... Ones that do manipulative therapy?
It's a chiropractor who can prescribe any medications or a MD who can do adjustments

Spoke to plenty who say they did nothing also. Also one area is thoracic which scares me.

I think the main thing would be researching the docs who work in the clinic--are they anesthesiologists or physiatrist, or just family med docs who are chasing the $.
I would suggest a pain management doc affiliated with a local medical center/university. Much more legit than someone in a strip mall.

2003-4 cervical radiculopathy. Saw GP and neuro for that. He was conservative PT meds and told me it was a 6 week injury. If not he would refer to neuro surgeon. It did go away. And now if it acts up I have a few exercises that I know will stop it.
Thoracic pain has been since 2010 along with lumbar. Bent wrong to pick up a pad for baby. 10 pounds. Felt pop. Hit ground. Now between the 2 I am layer up once every two weeks with heat rubs and heating pad. shite gets old.

Advil?
I am disappointed you did not refer him to an optromptist

Does the thoracic pain radiate to the abdomen like a band? Thoracic radiculopathies are pretty rare.

That's only if Advil doesn't work.

These facilities have been on the rise in the recent 5 yrs or so: interventional pain management doctor who can provide scripts and injections, with physical therapy and massage therapy all on site.
I think it is a good business model, particularly for those wanting to avoid surgery or who are not surgical candidates.
I can't speak specifically about the clinic you inquire about, but this type of facility might be a good option for you, with the notable exception of no PTs, only chiros.
Funny that chiropractors would align themselves in this type of business model at all, since they distanced themselves so long ago from traditional medicine, with the idea that they could cure all with spinal manipulation.
Guess that didn't work. Better make nice with the MDs again

Docs listed are anesthesia, GP, and DC (chiro). In Houston I believe gone are the strip mall pill mills. They've really cracked down. I am sure I could still find them but damn. They are up there with shady pawn shops and check cashing places.

So you are looking for some pills, right?

Advil?
Twice daily.

Very seldom. Typical is higher pain. Radiates along rib to sternum. Which as I get older is fun. "Is it my heart?" Already one ER trip under my belt for that.

What does your MRI say?

Good. Although I know it is a PITA to have to address this every now and then.
Ideally you have the following: the spine surgeon who gives you straight answers regarding what you need or don't need, in conjunction with the non-operative guys (PM&R and Anaesthesia) who can offer meds and injections, and the PTs who offer joint mobilization, stretching, and the like. There is some degree of comfort added if you can get that all under one roof, as opposed to "are all these offices talking to each other?"

This is what I've been looking for. I just want to know that it is what it seems to me.
