This was my worst purchase.

The concept was great at the time, and I wouldn't have even minded it had it not had to be sent back to Sony twice. First time, the play/pause button on the lid stopped working. Second time, I pressed the eject button and the lid came out but not the disc. Could not get the disc out.

6 weeks both times. You'd get something else too is you paid good money for a device that spent a quarter of the first year of having it in repairs, too.

I rented one from Blockbuster for a week. I played it 2 hours, got sick and threw up, and brought it back.

When the Rio Riot came out in early 2002 I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. It was 20 GB of music in the palm of your hand.

I don't think many people bought them though. Obviously the iPod took off in 2004 (it was available before that, but was Mac only, etc.).

Anyway, I had all my music on there and it had an FM tuner which to this day I don't understand why iPods and smart phones don't have.

I had end gen ipod. Went to the zone for the bigger screen.

You could've died of loneliness in "The Social." I owned the original Zune, the flash model, and the HD before I wised up and bought an iPod Touch.

Oh man, what an awesome phone. It's a shame that Palm bit the dust the way it did. They were so far ahead of the curve until WebOS didn't get adopted. They had a web-based app store with very useful apps. They had customizability (even within the Windows Mobile OS). Removable storage and batteries. Docks. Integrated file manager/sync software over wifi. MS Office. A battery that could last 2-3 days.

Even the last set of phones and their one attempt at a tablet had some really neat/useful looking integration software. I was about two weeks away from pulling the trigger on the pair when the firesale happened and I could never get my hands on the tablet.

Bought one for my daughter and she loved it until someone stole it.
