Are there any places that have a legit version? I've heard the original Don's on Airline has a good version, and I'm looking forward to the new Pat's, which I've heard has a good one, as well. Anywhere else??

I haven't had from Don's in BR in years. The Laffy Don's does a fine job with it.

Ralph and Kacoo's used to have it, but the last time I went there just to get some, it wasn't very good. That was years ago, though, and it hasn't gotten any love at all here that I've seen.

I don't know of any other places. Maybe someone else does.

I had Don's around 26 or so years ago. It was good. Can't help you otherwise.

Not really in Baton Rouge, but the crawfish bisque at Hymel's in Convent is old school and good.

Dons still does a good job with it. Mike Anderson's avoid it at all costs. Worst dish I had at any restaurant it was putrid there.
