I kind of agree. From the outside looking in, to me it seems like other than the troops the next big concern to the average conservative is personal property and well being.

Daily Show segemnt that you won't click on

The current Fear mongering from the right over Ebola. Yet does little to help the real causes of death.. The right has NO PLAN for healthcare.

Thinks the govt needs to stop forcing health options on people while at the same time they want to cut healthcare for those with existing conditions.
Mainly it gets me that with all the fighting over healthcare, not one, not one idea from the right on how to fix heatlhcare.

Debt, debt, debt, taxes taxes taxes. It's all you hear.

Anyway. Downvote, yada yada yada. But everything in that video is right.

deal with it.

If you believe that government is the solution to everything, then I can see how you would feel that way.

I don't.

Is equal to the left.

Not a single person of conservative persuasion has any ideas? Actually, a few have ideas, and the rest are empty-headed demagogues. Which again makes them exactly like the left.

Because that's all you listen to.

In conclusion, it's your obvious confirmation bias. You (or Jon Stewart) want cons to be wrong so you focus on certain things and ignore certain things to fit that.

try on this really simple idea

conservatives believe that prosperity (including "general welfare") flows from a free society, from liberty, not from government

there is not necessarily a correlative program that is the "equivalent' (there is that root word again) of Odoomacare, it's that Conservatives believe that a society is healthier when people are the most self-sufficient

it is a philosophy, an ideology. Conservatives earnestly believe that this is best for all of society; further if liberals would simply argue on the merits, instead of ascribing all manner of nasty motives for this sincere belief, then liberals might gain a measure of respect, instead of just coming off as uninformed, emotional, utopian nincompoops

the libs have had their playbook open to the same page for so long that they now think the proper MO is to mock any counter-agenda language as extreme. These bitches wouldn't know common sense if it hit them upside their white privileged skulls

No, it isn't.

The notion that gun control laws are going to fix crime issues, the notion that government can fix climate change, the notion that government can provide efficient healthcare to people, the notion that government can regulate people to eat what the government thinks they ought to eat, are fantasy. It is a common trope on the left to confuse intent with outcomes. Conservatives don't oppose expanding Medicaid because it's expensive. They oppose expanding Medicaid because it's expensive and doesn't work. There are more efficient ways to handle these issues that don't involve the government. The assumption is that conservatives oppose expanding Medicaid even though it would help the poor, because they perceive the cost is not worth it. This is a fallacy. Conservatives don't believe Medicaid expansion will help the poor as much as liberals seem to believe it. Conservatives reject the premise, whereas liberals do not. Liberals thereby assume that any opposition to Medicaid is opposition to the poor, when in reality, conservatives are arguing that these very government programs maintain the status quo and keep the poor poor.

That, for whatever reason, is what leftists can't seem to wrap their brain around -- that not every problem necessitates a government solution.

The right has NO PLAN for healthcare.

You mean no plan that the media is willing to give coverage? or no plan at all? Because a simple google search reveals a slew of GOP proposals for healthcare reform including .......

H.R. 3121, the American Health Care Reform Act, and H.R. 2300, the Empowering Patients First Act

at the same time they want to cut healthcare for those with existing conditions.

You mean healthcare insurance right? No one has declared they want to prevent people from receiving treatment except Obama "Take a pill and just die already".
