DeGette asking generic questions.

Talking to hospital guy: CDC gave information to hospital, that information was given to department, but no training took place.

Hospital guy can't see graphics posted... or at least claims he cannot.

The reason given was to place her in a top facility with the personnel who could provide the best care. Her health is still good reportedly.

The first question should be "Did you (the CDC) really tell a nurse who'd treated an ebola patient it was OK to fly on an airplane after having a fever?

CDC in response to the suggestion for a travel ban is saying that everyone coming in now we record their names, do a background check for dangerous contacts, take down addresses and phone numbers including those of friends and relatives.

That was asked but it could not be confirmed. We know that she called the CDC and then got on the plane.

Ms. Blackburn recommends that we quarantine people in these affected countries for 21 days before they come here.

Does that seem irrational?

I heard that earlier. Any reason why?

There are four highly specialized bio-containment facilities in the US.

One is at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta (basically next door to the CDC and built initially in case a CDC lab worker got infected working on a specimen). The facility has a 2 bed unit.

A second is at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland (I want to say Hyattsville). It has between 4 and 7 beds.

Third is at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha with another 1 or 2 beds.

The final site is St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. It is right up the road from NIH's Rocky Mountain Labs in Hamilton and also has 1 or 2 beds.

More details: The hospital is dealing with a lot as they have 50 health care professionals that now need to be monitored due to possible exposure. Those workers are out and additional effort has to be made to manage their supervision.

I also wonder if these two women were moved, in part, because of the anticipation that other healthcare professionals in Dallas will ultimately test positive for Ebola?

I say that partly because a local official almost seemed to be hinting last night that there will be additional cases of Ebola among that group.
