I would give up on trying to find a good IPA. You might find a good scottish ale. Probablay the most prevalent beer up there is "skunk beer".

SBD Pump House fire chief red ale

I got sent to the tourist trap of St. John, NB. Should have turned around when I saw it was in their version of the Seattle market.

$16 for half dozen oysters the size of my thumb. Good thing these Canadians are annoyingly nice.

Go find a place with a nice fish chowder. Can't be that difficult... Then order a beer you've never heard of.

Walked down the street. St. John ale house. Took another shot in the dark on a local IPA...

You're doing better than I did in Halifax, and Halifax is a much bigger town...

I found a beady eyed, flappy headed maven behind the bar here. I said how good it was and he preceded to go down the list of IPA, explaining the hops in each and describing the the different flavors.

4bd is a pump house IPA. "it's more West coast style, a little more grapefruit and resin." Sign me up, Terrance.

I might crack one tonight but they are much better with age. Having said that i suck at aging beers.

I opened up a 13 a week or so ago and it was much better with age than when fresh. It had mellowed out a lot. I have a 12-14 vertical going to that I'll have to try soon

2 hours ahead of central time is really messing me up. I'm going to close this place down thinking it's 8pm.

NBD -

Not too shabby. A little thin for an Imperial stout, lots of bourbon sweet and spice.

Fitting for a beer with the name...
