I just watched a mass administrative orgasm based upon the unemployment rate being so fantastical.

JEEBUS!!

Am I, now, to be cynical that there was shenanigans involved in that???

actually its not. We have very high unemployment since most people get their health insurance through their employers, it boosts uninsured rates. The incremental would be since obamacare was implemented IMHO.

But that doesn't work for your narrative.

You're making a good point, albeit unintentional.

Fix the unemployment problem.

I believe that a good argument could be made that the uninsured rate would be lower than current levels if we had an administration that promoted policies that would yield full employment. Getting rid of Obamacare and corporate tax just to name a couple.

The only shenanigans are on here. Your government would never lie to you. Your government loves* you.

I was told that the UE rate was 5.9%

I was also told that every American would have access to health insurance no matter what their employment status.

i doubt it would be lower that what we have. But full employment should be a primary goal of any administration.

I am not sure how much of a drag obamacare is on unemployment, or the corporate tax code. But i have no problem scraping obamacare, and the corporate tax code needs to be reformed.

You'll notice that those stats rarely get brought up. There's a reason.

You should see the fricked up stuff my insurance company has to do to meet Obamacare rules now. It makes not sense at all and we just do dental insurance. I'm not sure I can explain what group's have to choose from now without rolling over on the floor and laughing.

And we've seen this with the lowest participation rate since the late 70's.

i was speaking about the uninsured rate. I doubt that full employment would get it lower than what we have currently, as we had full employment in the 90s/2000s and uninsured rates were higher. our current uninsured rate is the lowest since tracking started.

I just found this chart on the St. Louis Fed's website. LINK

What strikes me is the steady decline with no recovery in healthcare coverage since the internet bubble. I believe a good reason for this the rising cost of healthcare insurance during that same time. We had pretty good employment situation for some quarters during this time but apparently not enough high paying jobs to recover from the internet bubble.

So Obama is personally working to grow our economy. He isn't exactly a diligent worker given the time he spends raising funds for political purposes, playing golf, vacationing, executing his duties as commander in chief of our military, and the other responsibilities he has as President. Why doesn't the Whitehouse say the Obama Administration is working to grow the economy instead of personalizing this?

Wait till everyone else sees how their insurance changes next year. I was on my wife's plan because her company subsidized the plan more than my company did so it saved us a good bit for me to be on hers. We were paying around $60 per pay period for the two of us. Next year if you want your spouse on the plan it is $360 per pay period! Needless to say I will be back on my companies.
