Some French Jews Have Joined ISIS

Not only does ISIS not discriminate when it comes to who they will kill (most of their victims are Muslim), but they also seem to be pretty open about who can join, with 1000's of Europeans and Americans having already traveled to the Mideast to wage jihad on behalf of ISIS. However, I have to admit that I'm surprised that they didn't draw the line at Jews, but apparently not. I'm beginning to think that ISIS' appeal to young people may be more as an anti-establishment, anarchist terrorist group than a theocratic terrorist group.

I sort of agree. I think their nihilism is attracting all sorts of disillusioned, unhinged youth who have failed to assimilate into or contribute to their societies.

As long as they are killing Muslims I don't understand why we care. If Muslims are killing Muslims it seems like a win/winto me. Someone tell me what I'm missing!

The United States government has a vested interest in having client/compliant states in the Middle East. ISIS would certainly not qualify.

French converts - that's a pretty important distinction. In addition, the French government has a pretty vile history, both recent and ancient, of intentionally demonizing Jews. "Jewish extraction" - what the hell is that supposed to mean? How would it sound if we said the same of persons of "African extraction"?
Regardless, your point about the anarchic roots attracting foreigners is a decent one. However, the foreigners, except the Chechens, aren't doing much on the ground. The locals are still the meat and muscle in both countries in which ISIS has a presence.

Scoop doesn't count Catholics and Orthodox as Christians and he probably thinks Yazidis should be wiped out.

I don't think most militant Islamic groups like Al Qaeda accept converts as casually as ISIS does. By doing so, ISIS makes itself susceptible to all sorts of mischief makers, not to mention foreign intelligence services such as the CIA, the MI6 and Mossad.

I don't understand how this tracks for either side. Why would ISIS want Jewish comrades if their goal is living with sharia law & why would Jews want to assist them in that goal?

This will last only as long as they are still trying to aggressively expand. If they ever reach a point where they stop expanding and begin working on internals (power structure, infrastructure, economy, etc) they will kill the frick out of any Jews they can find.
