That's how I read it anyway. If you are "open" to being recruited by other schools, you aren't very "committed" IMO
Which is fine. These are kids making probably the biggest decision of their lives to this point. Gotta make sure it's the right one. But we can still call it like it is. I ain't mad at him

I tell my wife, Yes I'm still married to you and committed, but I'm reopening my options and taking 5 dates with different women, but don't worry honey! I'm still with you
Well that's a bit of a silly analogy. But yeah, re-opening recruitment is decommitting. It's not all that complicated.
ETA: Not pissing on the kid at all. I just hope the staff works hard to keep this one at home and will wish him well regardless of the decision he and his family reach.

You guys are like a self-contained support group. Fact is a de-commitment from a blue chip prospect when we're losing 2 or our 3 main backs is concerning. I haven't assembled a mob to burn anyone's home.
Geez.

If he is good, he will get massive amounts of playing time here. Obviously, LSU is a factory in sending rb's to the NFL....in part because they are usually NFL type backs, but also because LSU does not run the wheels off them while at LSU and they have a lot of rubber left, so to speak. If LSU is truly his first love, this should be a slam dunk. View his options? This recruiting shite is going to start trending down....too many kids craving that attention and some that will never make an impact making far too much of a spectacle out of it. It makes a kid that is committed to the school and his decision, seem all that more special. Not slamming Guice here, but the recruiting process in general these days.

If you had to guess, where would Guice take his five official visit?

Ok.... Since many people have problems with this.
This is what college football recruiting is like.... Imagine each school is an OT 10 and all want you. What do you do? Do you just get 1 and tell the rest sorry right when it starts to happen? No.... You get as much as you can when you can and when the time comes, you commit to 1. Let the kid take his free visits to wherever he wants to go. I would. Oh and remember, he and Dylan Moses are really close. Moses is all LSU. And Guice literally said LSU is and will always be his first love and is still a commitment.
And the difference between being committed and in a relationship is that being committed doesn't mean anything... All that matters is where you sign. That doesn't work in a relationship. You can't be with someone and still look around. You can in recruiting.

1. Whose alter are you?
2. If you're not an alter, shut the frick up. You can't judge a poster's disposition by one of the worst months in the current coach's tenure. I've been steady in my support for CLM, but there are shortfalls to address. Recruiting hasn't been consistently stellar for the last several years (as we're seeing on the field).

So why is derrius on campus several days a week hanging out with players and coaches?
Because he's in high school and because he can. If Fla St had a campus in BR, you don't think he would swing by?

I'm not exactly ecstatic with this news but it's really not the end of the world. Some people do sunshine pump but the reality is that IN THIS CASE, we are still considered the favorite to gain Guice's signature on national signing day. That's really all that matters at this point...

guice wants to take visits and have fun. remember, he has taken very few unofficial visits over the summer and fall. he looks at all the other top prospects (DM, & KT) and they took lots of visits.

Guice doesn't want to break my heart. That's important to him. Don't break LSU Pimp's heart. That's what he thinks. Because Guice is considerate and generous of the feelings of old white dudes in cargo shorts on message boards. And because I suffered under Weiner as well, he relates...

I haven't read this whole thread, but I was here to post that. Guy hasn't done any trips to camps or events outside of Louisiana, hasn't taken any unofficial visits except for maybe Southern Miss , and hasn't taken any official visits either.
if I'm not mistaken, Womack, Toliver, Lewis, Brossette, Shipley, and maybe a few others have done the same.
I don't care what they do, as long as they are committed to LSU at the end of the day. A lot of people on this last page, sound like females lol.

the only concern I have is looking at the bigger picture of 2015 recruiting in la. With guice, brossette, lewis taking visits, LSU does not have a top 7 or 8 player from the state of la. that is committed to LSU and not taking visits. this is a very unusual situation.
on the other hand tiller is taking visits. johnson, Jackson, are uncommitted and it starting to feel like a very strange year for la. recruiting.

Bull shite like this is why I don't follow recruiting closely anymore.
Same here. It gets progressively more annoying every year. Outside a very select few prospects per class (the Dorsey, Scott, Shepard, Paris recruiting for LSU type guys) commitments don't mean shite. Regardless of whether the player is out of state or IN BR. I understand all the cliches ab why they do it and why we shouldn't care, but it's still annoying. Now I'm going to have to change my sig soon too dammit.

Correct. You would hope a local kid would want to help recruit for the school he is committed to, not be a distraction and force the coaches to keep spending time recruiting them and all the others.
