Going to have to get creative with our scheduling to try to avoid a murder's row from now on. Sheesh.

neither we still only play 12 games, we just have to do it in 13 weeks rather than 14.

Wont this screw up the kickoff games? or will the SEC championship be a week earlier?

Labor Day will be a week later next year, but Thanksgiving will be the same weekend. One less week in between them means one less bye week. My guess is that our bye will be on Halloween, before going to Bama.

Think it's still going to be 8 SEC and 4 OOC.

I think they will move the games up. Everyone has 2 SEC games within the 1st 4 weeks.

This has to do with where Labor Day (the 1st weekend of the season) falls.

Last 3 years the first day of September has been on Sat, Sun or Mon causing the Labor Day weekend to be earlier in the month (on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd) and not later (4th through 7th) therefore pushing the season start back a weekend in the calendar year.

Next year the 1st of Sept. will be on Tuesday, pushing the game to the first weekend in September (aka Labor Day).

Exactly. The first week of the regular season is always Labor Day weekend, and for the SEC, the last week is Thanksgiving weekend. This year, that's a 14-week span (2 byes), but next year, only 13 weeks (1 bye).

Thankfully this happens in a year when Aggy comes to Baton Rouge and LSU isn't presented the inconvenience of the thanksgiving road game.

For the years that we play at A&M with one bye week, they better not force us to play on a short week just to get their stupid fricking thanksgiving day game.

That's what sucks so much about that Thanksgiving night game. We better have a weak OOC game the week before if not a bye. The bad thing about a bye week before the @ A&M game is that means we will have to play 11 straight.

The difference that in two years, no other SEC team will be faced with a short week for a Thursday Thanksgiving game against aTm.

Because of that, LSU will have a major decision as to when to take their bye.

Before your current "biggest rival" and before a short week?

Well, to be fair, A&M will have a decision to make too. Either play on a short week or play 11 straight. The best thing to do is let the Big XII and NFL have Thanksgiving night and just play on Saturday.

In the recent past when we've only had one bye, we've taken it the last week of October and played Bama the next week. I'd imagine we'll stick to that, so we'll just have to eat the short week if we have to play aTm on Thanksgiving. I'd also be in favor of playing a weak OOC beforehand when that happens.
