The boyfriend of Nina Pham, the nurse who contracted the Ebola virus from a Liberian national, may have been admitted to a hospital.

He obviously violated protocols.

Sincerely,

Can't be true.

They've told us that Ebola is really hard to contract.

Virology and basic disease containment procedures are racist.

i would be surprised considering that she just started showing symptoms herself. I guess that is why I would wait for a reliable source.

Dude This isn't a threat. There is a higher chance of Mississippi State being ranked number one in the football polls or a black man being President of The United States than this. Stop with the alarmist crap. Stuff like this doesn't happen here, we are the United State bro.

Wait - what's this incubation period? I thought it was 14-21 days...

This seems quicker.

My heart breaks for this poor girl and now her boyfriend. I also work in healthcare and people don't have a strong enough appreciation for the risk we sometimes put ourselves in for patient care.

This HIPPA BS doesn't make it any easier as we're not always made aware of exactly what a patient has.

CDC Chief "Ebola is difficult to contract."

CDC Chief "The infected person may have only
brushed a contaminated surface."

Him being placed in quarantine=/= having ebola symptoms. Plus 2 employees that won't put their names on record saying an email went out. Please excuse me while I wait for a more credible source.

You know what? All these "experts" and such should put their money where there mouths are. Treat 100% of those infected @ CDC Atlanta and in the Washington, D.C. area.

If it's so safe and easy to contain, there should be no problem, right? Don't these people deserve the best care?

When a person is in the last stages of the disease the fluids (blood, vomit, diarrhea, etc) is much more likely to transmit the disease.

He doesn't have any symptoms - he has been hospitalized as a safeguard to observe him for symptoms.

Ebola is very serious. When a person is in the last stages of the disease the fluids (blood, vomit, diarrhea, etc) is much more likely to transmit the disease.

The fact that the CDC Chief's second statement is direct contradiction of his first statement does not inspire confidence.

As much as I don't believe the CDC is giving us the full story, people saying that ebola must not be hard to catch because out of hundreds of contacts there are 2 confirmed cases are being absurd.
