Should be a bunch more but TD's search is abysmal. Could have sworn we chatted about it. Huge Doom fan, though it's really the only rap I listen to from the past 10-15 years.

Thanks for making this thread. I don't listen to much rap anymore as I can't stand it. If I do, it's Nas or Notorious and that stuff. All this DOOM stuff is older too but I'm enjoying the hell out of getting to know his stuff

So Captain I'm listening to some Prefuse 73, the first album he did I forget what it's called

One of the tracks has MF Doom and Aesop on it. So I'm listening, enjoying it, it's a good album. Not a fan of the songs with words on it and usually skip them, this one included.

Either Aesop or MF Doom, I'm not sure which one, TOTALLY fricking steals Kool Keiths whole fricking flow. The whole ryhme scheme, the way he does overlapping lyrics to emphasis certain words. Lots of stuff about horror shite like skeletons and stuff.

It sounds like its straight off of Dr. Octagonocylogyst

What up with that bro. Stealing Keiths flow bruh. Bush league.

For starters, all caps when you say the man's name

Well it isn't news that Kool Keith is an influence of MF DOOM. They have SEVERAL similarities. However, DOOM is a lot more complex imo. I mean it's hard to form an opinion about him without hearing a little bit of everything. That being said, DOOM and Keith are well acquainted with each other (See Doper Skill).

If you listen to any KMD's Mr. Hood or Black Bastards (both before Keith dropped his first album) you can still see DOOM's style hasn't changed drastically. You're not wrong by saying they have similarities but to say he stole from Keith is a stretch.

You know it might be Aesop's verse. I don't know, I don't listen to much of either.

Blacklist (the verse starting at 2 minutes)

BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah - Ray Gun ft. DOOM (Official Video)
quote:

Ghostface Killah, the most reliable member of the recently reunited Wu-Tang Clan, has released the first video off Sour Soul, his upcoming collaboration with BadBadNotGood, the Toronto jazz-funk crew best known for their tracks with Odd Future. The track, "Ray Gun," reunites the rapper with MF Doom, his occasional, and comparably loquacious sparring partner.

quote:

The clip should stand as good news for anyone awaiting the potential of a full Ghostface Killah and MF Doom collaboration album — something that's been rumored for about a decade. In a recent Reddit AMA, Ghostface said the LP — under the name Doomstarks — will be out this year.

I made a 15min remixtape of sorts where I took some DOOM acapellas and put them all together to my own beats, and then set all the remixed songs to various clips and videos.
I realize remixes of DOOM are often underwhelming, but hopefully I did the man justice...
