Wut

Evans is one of the worst pass blocking guards in the NFL right now

Well statistically Brees is one of the least sacked in the league this year. Our running game has had huge holes to run through up the middle and on the outside. Evans struggled with McCoy(that his name?) but pretty much everyone does.

See, overall, the pass blocking is average to just below.
But that's because our tackles are blocking well.

The problem is, our inside pass protection is poor, which is more problematic for Brees.

I wish he would take some sacks or throw the ball away.

The dude is constantly trying to make plays that aren't there.

And he's been one of the highest pressured

Which has nothing to do with pass protection

Hes third to last amongst guards in pass blocking efficiency after being top 5 throughout his career and 3rd last year. It wasn't just McCoy who beat him last game

Brees is sacked little because he can avoid pressure and does crazy shite to avoid sacks, sometimes resulting in pick 6s

So far this year, he has given up 2 sacks, 5 hits, and 10 hurries through 5 games.

Last year, he gave up 2 sacks, 4 hits, and 12 hurries

Good points about brees doing dumb things to avoid sacks. I think one of the Oline issues might be play calling. We all know and everyone else know depending on RB in game whether we pass or run. Teams gear up to rush the passer and could care less about stopping the run against us.

Last year we couldn't run block at all and this year we have done great. I'm not meaning to say our Oline is best in the league but I don't think they are playing that bad.

Listen, Drew virtually had almost zero preseason work so in actuality the first few games were his preseason games of him knocking the rust off. Plus he has been getting lots of pressure up the middle and his throwing lanes are not there for him. And he's just trying to do too much due to a bad defense.

I def agree. Look at the Cleveland game where we threw a pick 6 going empty backfield on 1st down.

Our wrs get no separation and if they do who knows if they will catch it. Im not worried about arm strength as much as the rest as long as he has time and can get it out early

I don't think that is true this year. Cooks is great at getting open, and even Meachem has gotten open this season

d if they do who knows if they will catch it.

Now this is def true. Waay, way too many drops. Meachem dropped Brees' best throw of the year vs Cleveland. 30+ yards downfield, on a rope to the sideline.

I sit in the terrace, also went to dallas, and had a great view of the play before it develops. In those 3 games, our wrs are not open and he has to force it. Yes cooks is good at finding holes but look how many tough catches hes made. If hes got seperation, he wouldnt be tackled immediately. Not saying they are always covered but just seems to me that hes always forcing passes into tight coverage. Its everyones fault, not just brees

So do I

We've had 2 games at home this year, and our WRs were absolutely getting open vs. Tampa Bay. Meachem surprisingly got behind the defense but we couldn't get the ball to him.

Another problem is that McCoy had several plays where he was on Brees in under 2 seconds

He was 4th in the NFL in receptions going into this week. He has the 2nd highest catch % in the NFL at 82.1%.

No doubt. We can't drop wide open passes like we've done this year, especially against Dallas.

I have no doubt that cooks is ranked up there. The dude catches everything.

My point about seeing the play develop in the dome is that in the past, we are standing before brees throws the ball bc u can see the wr wide open. Its not happening this year. Now defenses can play us tighter bc the long ball isnt happening so the CBs can get physical. Our wrs suck at getting off the line and separated when the other team is physical

Guys with more drops than any one on the Saints:

Victor Cruz
Roddy White
Demaryius Thomas
Kelvin Benjamin
Rob Gronkowski
Vincent Jackson
Sammy Watkins
Randall Cobb
Dez Bryant
Calvin Johnson
Antonio Brown
TY Hilton
Lance Moore has 3 catches and 3 drops. Worst drop% in the league.

Yes, many of them have more catches/targets, but all WRs drop balls. The worst of the WRs on the Saints so far has been Kenny Stills, but he is just getting into the swing of things.

That isn't true. Colston has 4 drops which is more than a lot of those guys

We had 2 against the Cowboys that didn't go down as drops due to illegal contact on the play. We would have gained 30+ on Graham's, and 15+ on Colston's.

It is also timeliness. Colston's drop vs Tampa would have gave us the win in regulation. He had another drop against Minny when we were up and rolling on offense. It was 3rd down, killed the drive, and let them get back into it.

Meachem's drop vs. the Browns cost us a TD and possibly the game.

And I would love to have most of the guys on the saints over our guys drops and all. Just seems like we drop or fumble in big situations, (colsten in atl and tampa, or even stills in dallas before our awesome fake punt attempt)

Do these plays effect the game? Yes. But you're delusional if you think they cost them the game.

I listed 2 wins in that list...

And Colston's drop/fumble vs. Tampa Bay sent it to overtime. That could have easily cost us the game. Not to mention his fumble vs. ATL
