Anyone else think it sounds wierd when people pronounce LSU...

They pronounce each letter individually

I grew up saying and hearing ELL ESS SHOE

born and bred in la, i lived all over the country for 40 years and i would be corrected by yankees, canadians, europeans, texans, etc, etc when i said nawlins they would say new r leens, etc.
say louziana and they correct w/ lou wee siana.
say ell ess shoe and they correct w/ ell ess you.


so sometimes, i would say it the other way, and they would still correct me. they KNEW they were smarter than a louisiana native and lsu alum!

That's how you pronounce LSU, if not normally then at least phonetically. Why is that weird?

When my daughter was like two, she pointed to the letter "U" in a newspaper headline and said "I know what that spells". So of course I had to bite and ask, what?

She said "shoe".
