Anybody remember when Subway used the v-cut method to make their sandwiches?

They used to do this in the 90s when Subway first became popular. What was the reasoning behind this?

Was it just a way to keep the sandwich eating process cleaner? Looks so odd.

Seems like you were limited on the number if toppings you could fit in there.

They also use to slice meat every night to put on sandwiches for the next day and get this...... used real meat. I had a few buddies who worked there in the mid 90s.

I'd like to see the look on their face if I asked them that.

They used to be sandwich artists. Now, they're just trading on their past fame and glory.

I already get pissed when some dude in front of me takes a half hour ordering four sandwiches for the office with all kinds of crazy requests. If I heard v-cut, I would lose it.

Their sandwiches are the worst for holding toppings

The mayo acts as a lube that forces everything to just slide right out
