I've been doing a good bit of garrison stuff simply because I like it, but it doesn't do a whole lot as far as leveling. Definitely do the bonus quests. They give a ton of XP and are just like normal quests.

Haven't been on here in a while. Saw 20 minute queues on Kargath at time. I have NEVER seen a queue on that server before. ever.
That being said, things finally smoothed out sometime Saturday and I was able to put in some serious play. Got both of my "main" toons to 100, one of which I was able to get around 630 average ilvl.
So far, this is the best expansion to date, coupled with the worst launch to date. I understand they had to deal with a heavy DDoS attack throughout the first two days, but I can't accept that as a complete excuse. There are well known best practices to mitigate that type of attack that Blizzard should have had in place LONG ago. In addition, they admitted that they had prepared for increased usage, but the amount of people coming back and playing at once was much more than they had anticipated. Garrison instance servers were FUBAR for a good 36 hours. How did they not anticipate and prepare for the entire active subscriber base being on that one server at the same time (excuse they used was not prepared for everyone in the same place at the same time)? What did they think people were going to do?

I got to play off and on during the weekend. I am on a very popular server so I did have to deal with 90 minute waits in the queue.
That being said, this is easily the best expansion Blizzard has every put out.
I love the garrisons. Hell I spent an hour reading the web and tinkering with garrisons last nite and running the missions.
Well worth my 50 dollars.

On a related note, the soundtrack is absolutely top notch as well. One of the better game soundtracks I can ever remember. so immersive.

I have to agree - ever aspect of this expansion has been far and above anything since BC.
in my eyes, they have redeemed themselves for even releasing Cata.

Cata was a huge flop. Instead of screwing around with pet battles they made garrisons and its deffentily a cool aspect of the game.

This describes Wyrmrest Accord server perfectly. That server couldn't give any fricks for raiding - they're all about RP and pet battles.

Yea. They say by next week server capacity will be double what it was BEFORE launch because of new instancing tech they are currently introducing (keep in mind after the launch they lowered capacity, adding to the queues to combat lag issues).

They increased the amount that could log on since Sunday. So it's better on most servers. Tich is one of the most populated servers so it could be awhile till theres no Q at all.

They're looking to double the pre-launch capacities of servers, which shows how insane launch really was. I'm loving it. I've got my DK to 100 and working on my Rogue, Priest, and Warriors. I spent hours farming to get the Garn Nighthowl (Wowhead: LINK) so now I'm ready to roll! I'm down to run some BGs, Skirmishes, or Dungeons with anyone.
