Would not be shocked if Jermaine Jones is tried at CB for @J_Klinsmann early in this next cycle. #USMNT

I wouldn't mind this at all actually. Jones is built like a CB as it is and kind of has the mindset of one as well. Theoretically, it would help out on distribution out of the back – something that JK has been trying to implement here ever since he took over.

Only concern is that I could very easily see him push up too far on the attack like he tends to do at times and opening us up on the counter.

We tried this with Edu before he fell out off at Stoke and I remember liking it.

If there's one thing I wan, it's a CB that has a propensity to wander all over the field.

We could have our very own David Luiz!

Jones wanders and his passing is kind of shitty. Do not want.

He's reckless at times and he loves playing the long ball instead of the simple pass.

Go rewatch that god awful Honduras match from February 2013 if you think passing is his strong suit. He completed 19/29 passes. That's kinda shitty.

You'll see that pass attempted at least once or twice in any professional game. Not sure what's so egregious about that.

His distribution is a much smaller problem than the likelihood that he picks up bookings with ease.

He's scoring at a good clip. Not sure I'd want him far away from the goal.

I wouldn't hate this. He was such an enforcer for us in Brazil. If he could keep from getting red carded, he would be awesome.

huge difference between passing in MF and at CB. he'd be our best passing CB. not that I'm sure he could/would fit in that role but the idea is kinda intriguing.

I would be OK testing the waters for Jones at CB, but if he struggles with 10 yard passes like he does in the midfield at times, I'm going to shite myself. You can't give away the ball that easily in front of goal. I will reserve my judgment until I see him in action there.

I think one of the reasons JK is doing this is so he can experiment with a Mix/Bradley midfield pairing while still keeping Jones on the field.

He'll concede more PKs than Koscielny on meth.

You can have Jones, Mix, and Bradley together in a three man midfield. It's what we are trying to move towards anyway.
