All our members in Monroe and Arky ok?
We got in the hallway of my office during the wind. Nothing like seeing a trashcans flying by in the air along with limbs, etc. It bend the passenger mirror all the way forward on my truck.
From what we saw it was all straight line winds. No damage on my house but about 300 yards away there are houses with all their trees down.
If you look at the entergy outage map you can really see how it cut diagonally across West Monroe and Monroe.

Entergy Restoration Efforts for Storm
October 14, 2014 Monday, 8:30 a.m.
North Louisiana
Ouachita Parish
A severe thunderstorm with over 75 mph straight-line winds moved across the northern part of the state and caused extensive damage leaving approximately 38,000 customers in Ouachita Parish without power at its peak. Due to dangerous travel conditions with significant debris blocking roadways, it has been difficult to get a complete assessment of the overall damage. Currently 22,100 customers are still without power. Hundreds of additional lineman and contractor crews have been sent to the Region to assist with the restoration efforts.
West Monroe
The City of West Monroe and the surrounding areas sustained extensive, wide-spread damage. Damage assessments will continue throughout the day. Some of the most severe damage occurred around Thomas Rd, Downing Pines Rd, New Natchitoches Rd, Highway 80, Highway 34, and Highway 151. Approximately 12,800 customers are currently without power. The vast majority of customers should have power restored by Friday 10/17/14.
Monroe
The Downtown area and the Garden District of Monroe sustained significant electrical infrastructure damage. Damage assessments will continue throughout the day. Approximately 9,300 customers are without power. These areas are densely populated and some have large trees and rear lot distribution systems that make access difficult. The vast majority of customers should have power restored by Friday 10/17/14.
Areas outside of Ouachita Parish
The majority of customers in North Louisiana outside of Ouachita Parish were restored on Monday 10/13/14. The remaining customers in the communities who can receive power around Jonesboro, Hodge, Arcadia and Bastrop will have power restored by Tuesday 10/14/14.

Hardhead, I am in franklin this year. You up there much?
Posted on 10/14/14 at 12:57 pm to tigerfoot
Tfoot, I am up there a bunch. Have several friends in the camp and only live about a mile from there. Across from the check in station there's a camp that will probably have a guitar picker or two on its porch. Walk over and I'll fix you a whiskey.

Damn, sounds great, thanks to you and Hardhead for the hospitality!

oh the irony of this being posted while you were delivering the worlds best Big Macs my crew ever tasted (we were all starving!) to some men working there tails off at getting trees off houses today. But tiger wise is right geauxt, you could have at least called and tried to see if someone had a boom a man you never met but just fed along with his whole crew, could use. I mean shite, it's not like I was wanting you to call every man in town that's in the know and haul me across town to line one up and also show me other areas we needed to be. Damn you sorry.

thanks Langston, I'm glad yall could choke em down, they were on the floorboard of jeep for quite a while.
don't worry about lil boy, he has no clue about most folks on this board and what we do "behind the scenes". ignorance knows no bounds.
for all that texted today, I appreciate the concern and sorry I was so slow in returning them, but they were taking about an hour to get to me. the geauxt pen survived, but a lot of the area is almost not recognizable. pretty sad for some folks.
NASCAR, talked to your wife, she said all the home stuff was fine, gonna check the camp soon and let me know if anything needs to be done.
Wick, thanks, yall have a fun and safe trip.

eta: never mind, I need to get some rest so I can get up, feel fresh and be an Internet tough guy. my dang little company still won't run itself, and it keeps taking up part of my internet tough guy time.

I could tell that my usual glob of hair gel wasn't gonna hold in 125 mph winds, it didn't!!

Still no power at work - power back on at the house - no damage - I bought a brand new generator Generac RS5500 that is still in the is if anyone local wants to buy it I am hanging on to it until things are back to normal incase anyone needs one - if anyone in the area is still without power and needs a hot shower - warm meal - cold beer - shine - or a truck to help out let me know.
