Friday after work, I ran to Lafitte's for a few drinks. I was hoping to run into FT. I ordered a double Beam and threw on some slow jams. I grabbed a seat outside to people watch. Fridays are good because the bachelor/bachelorette parties start gearing up, and the tourists are usually drunk.

I think I saw FT trying to document that I was there. I snapped a picture. FT, your jean game is on point.

We then went to a little welcoming reception for the wedding we were attending on Sunday. It was in a nice Quarter courtyard. The had numerous h'orderves, but the star of the gathering was this praline-brownie.

After a few drinks, we scuttled over to Cane & Table. We were sat within a few minutes. The hostess knew I was important when I told her my name, "Awesome." I love bananas and bourbon. When I saw that they had a drink which contained both, I jumped at the option.

It reminded me of baby food and bourbon. I may try to replicate this one at home. I already want another.

I then ordered the skirt steak with lima beans and corn and an avocado salad. It was not the best steak I've had, but some parts were good. The sides were good, especially the corn. The salad was very good. I've heard from several people that they enjoy the cocktails there more than the food. I will have to agree.

After dinner, we decided to return Uptown. We went to one of the top 50 bars in the world! I ordered a beer and a shot.

I am not exaggerating when I say that it took the "waiter" 25 minutes to get me my beer. He must have found my High Life in Metairie. One girl at our table received her drink and ordered another by the time I received mine. The bartender made up for it by sending the table shots of bourbon. I was fine with that. I'll never understand those silly "Best in the World" lists.

I then went home to retire for the evening. I awoke at 5:30 and did 3 loads of laundry. I was out of the door by 9 to head downtown for a few drinks and brunch. We stopped in Lafitte's and shot the shite with a Chalmation. After a couple rounds, we walked over to Amelie. I know people there, so I get to skip.

Haha! Suckers!!

I ordered a couple Rhubarb & Ryes, gumbo and a crab cake. All were amazing, and I would put their gumbo up with anyones. However, we were having a blast and I forgot to take pictures of the food. I did take one of my drinks to go.

We then went to my friend's house to have another drink on her balcony. I think it's the best in the French Quarter. When I walked in, I hit the motherload. They were prepping goodie bags for the wedding.

You know I grabbed a few of those before making my drink and heading upstairs. Here's the balcony.

We then went shopping around the Quarter before returning home. I needed to get a brief nap in before dinner and Paul McCartney.

I went to dinner at Delmonico for 5:30. The guy who made the reservations knows a lot of people. When we arrived, the maitre d opened the door and told us he doesn't opened until 6, but made an exception for my friend.

We first had a round at the bar. I ordered a sazerac, which was very good. One the way to the table I saw that they had a special cocktail with bourbon, honey and I believe satsuma. I decided to have a few of these with dinner. They were better than the sazerac.

When we sat down, the chef sent several complementary plates our way. I knew we would be in for a good meal at this point. They were a salmon spread, corn bread, oysters bienville and a rice fritter.

For an appetizer, we ordered jalapeno cream cheese boudin balls and I got an extra stuffed mirliton. The mirliton was out of this world, and I must say it was better than my grandmother's.

For my main course, I went with a cuban pork chop and the little lady got the filet. Both were extraordinary. I loved the combo of the herbs and pickled onions with the pork. The steak is one of the best in the city.

We also ordered brussel sprouts. Vegetables are very important to consume.

For dessert, they got coffee. I went big and got the coconut cream pie. It's similar to the banana cream pie at Emeril's in consistency. It was great, but it's not better than it's banana counterpart.

After dinner, we went to the concert. It was a great show. Sir Paul played 40 songs non-stop. My only complaint was that I could not find a television in the lounge with the LSU game on. What state do we live in? I was relegated to trying to keep up on the "Scoreboard."

When I saw that we had won, I ran to the lounge to get a celebratory cocktail. I think this old boy had too much Paul for the night.

When I returned to the seat, "Live and Let Die" came on. For a moment, I wasn't sure I was back at Wrestlemania.

I apologize for the potato camera (it looks good on the phone)

After cabbing it home, I grabbed a beer and threw on the highlights of the game. Leonard Fournette is a man.

Sunday I awoke and ran to mass. It was great as usual.

I grabbed a bloody at Lafitte's and returned home. I had to go to a gay wedding. It was officially the first one I've been to. It was at the Column's Hotel.

Upon arrival, all guests were greeted with complimentary mint juleps. Me, being the genius that I am, grabbed two and poured them into a bigger cup.

The ceremony was great and the officiant was Becky Allen. Music was performed by the famous gay string quartet, Well Strung. I got into their rendition of "Hallelujah."

There was plenty of food to go around.

Mini-muffs were outstanding!

One buddy upstaged me with this great bow tie.

After several rounds of bourbon, I retired to the front porch. We then walked to Superior for dinner. I was drunk and this was a great meal. I played it safe and ordered margaritas, queso and chicken fajitas.

I'm worn out.

Stay fat my friends.

I also wasn't sure what to make of this license plate. Was I following an oppressed Bama fan?
