I can't believe what David Simon did to Dukie. I mean, did he really have to go there?

Don't worry, man. If you like, you can imagine that he made it out and is recording R&B sex jams now.

I'm in the middle of watching The Sopranos and plan on watching this next.

Really? You thought that was worse than the fake serial killer bs?

He one hundred percent did.
And Michael turned into Omar. And Sydnor turned into Jimmy. I get it. And Bubs sister let him come into the house finally, and that was uplifting, and The Wire isn't some happy feel good show, and so it heeded to be counteracted by the Dukie thing.
But still...ugh. When they showed Dukie with the rubber band. I mean, that hurts to watch. It's like, we could kind of see that coming from the previous two episodes. We could infer it. They didn't really need to remove all doubt.

What do you mean? That was the entire basis of the fifth season. I"m talking about a two second shot in the final episode.

Powerful scene.
What also got me a little was when Snoop was like "does my hair look okay?"

Don't forget Chris and Wee Bey becoming prison besties.
Probably my favorite of those little nods in the finale.

I think that was the effect David Simon was going for. I might be wrong though.

i think the most depressing scene in the whole series is with randy and carver in the hospital at the end of one episode of season 4.

I would agree. The first time I saw that scene I actually said "wow" out loud and was in a funk for the rest of the night.
