How can other teams have real QB's and LSU does not?

What is our problem in getting a QB that is an elite SEC caliber player? Mett was great but how can other schools get these guys year after year and we can't? Even teams not in the SEC have some very good QB's. LSU get's great players at every position but QB. How can we be an SEC team that has won two NC's yet our QB could not start at any other team in the SEC? Our receivers are very good but we cannot get them the ball.We can't even run a screen. Why do we have this problem?

You're giving up on Harris after 1 game?

there's only one reason for everyone of these threads; number 9.
obviously some people here wont give Miles any credit for Flynn, but let's just skip that for now. Perriloux was set to replace him and was coming along fine (2007 SEC CG mvp) until his dismissal.
after that was 4 years of Lee and 9, who were both 4 star, top 250 recruits. neither worked out, as often happens even with top 10 recruits, but Miles did actively try to get replacements for them. we recruited the frick out of QBs for those 4 years, and some even committed, they just didn't end up here.
after that was 2 very good years with Zach, and now we're here, 7 games in with freshman Harris showing flashes of greatness and sophomore Jennings showing flashes of, um, goodness.
so, what exactly is the problem?

Is this accurate?

Miles can't recruit, sign and develop QBs.

We do have good QBs. Square peg…round hole.
I really think that Mett and Cam worked well together.

With everything LSU has as a program and the talent we get you would think elite QB's would be lining up to play here.

Elite QBs don't want to play in this offense. You can't really blame them.

actually, no. i apparently remembered it wrong. they were not top 100, they were both top 250 (4 stars).

Agree.
Like Charlie said last night, you brought in an NFL OC to come in and run this for $1.3 mill/year?
You could of kept Stud or went out and paid a HS coach $100k to run this offense.
I wanted Cam to run the offense he ran at Indiana with Antoine randle-el. I think it fits our talent better.

No problem here everything is perfect
The problem is we don't know how to develop qbs
bringing in two dual threat qbs and forcing them into this shite I form scheme
is a disaster

awesome how you skipped over the parts you couldnt refute and simply posted the same idiotic bullshite you lemmings chant over and over and over

Jennings isn't even a dual threat QB.

Harris will probably be good down the road. Jennings seems to be a class act, but he just doesn't have what it takes. We need to recruit larger people with the ability to move around in the pocket.

Ok please tell me when Miles has recruited, signed and developed a QB? Do I need to remind you that he is in his 10th yr at LSU?

We do not have a quarterback friendly system. The best quarterbacks in the world can struggle when you have little to no opportunity to develop any rhythm. Only passing 15-20 times a game will hinder a QB's progress as well. Running 90% of the time on first and second downs putting us in third and long situations doesn't help either. It also doesn't help a QB when half of the pass plays only consist of one or two targets.
The bottom line is that we have a very predictable offense that I have literally seen a child read. If we can't out muscle a defense on the line, don't expect many offensive fireworks.
I could see Jennings playing better in an offense like Auburn's. If we want to see anything like the first half of last season throwing the ball, the better option would be developing Harris. The problem with that is Miles loves his ground and pound run the ball 75% of the time. He is probably going to stick with his boy, Jennings.

no QB coach from 2007-2012 doomed us. Which means, if you don't have a good QB coach, you don't have a good QB evaluator, if you don't have a good QB evaluator, you will have raw QBs that take years under a good coach to produce even decent QB play.
Minus what everybody said, JJ had a hell of a 2009 campaign with zero help from his run game. Outside of that, only seniors have been anywhere near good since 2006.
Also, it doesn't help when 70% of your QBs transfer or get kicked out.
