Theoretically the world as we know it ends.

Your family runs out of food and is on the brink of death...your neighbor has stockpiled years worth of food but won't give your family any...would you kill him to feed your family?

Don't know. Neighbor sounds strong. Maybe if it was someone I didn't know.

eta: I'd probably not even be in this situation because I'd high tail it to the woods and live off the land.

If he is being unreasonable and has enough for all of us, Scruffy would probably attack and steal from him.

Kill is a possibility.

No. I could find food. I'm an outdoorsman. I'm not going to give up my humanity.

People look for any and every excuse to "hypothetically" throw morals out the window

Only if he insults Islam.

But yeah, I would. If he has years and my people are starving I'd do my best to work together, community could be an advantage. If he was a prick about it I'd do my best to subtract his arse.

You can only eat fish so often before you get tired of it.

I would ask him for food; offer protection.

But, seriously, I could find food. Roots, berries, squirrels, fish. That's how I roll, breh.

What if it were a nuclear winter type of situation and those things were dead and unavailable?

Along with every other Tom, Dick, and Harry. You wouldn't be in those woods alone. There are 316 million people in this country. Scatter that number to the wind and see how much space there is. Most people who think they're an outdoorsman think so because they can shoot a deer on a private hunting lease from a tree stand.

Time to go scavenge, I guess. Hit up the WalMarts/grocers, pawn shops, etc.
