Republican Gov. Scott Walker is under investigation, and he is reviled by the largest political force in his state. But you’d never guess that by watching him amble through the stalls at a central Wisconsin dairy farm.

Walker converses with a casual ease rare among politicians. He strolls with a light step through a massive cow barn at Ruedinger Farms on Wednesday. The only thing hanging over his head is the mechanical hawk that chases away the pigeons.

You wouldn’t guess from his demeanor how hated he is. County prosecutors are still investigating him. And the government employee unions — which failed to block his legislation, failed to recall him, and failed to take back the state legislature — still have it in for him.

Ron, a bartender at Buck Bradley’s in Milwaukee for more than 20 years, is backing Walker again. He understands the unions’ anger: “If someone yanked away your gravy train, would you be happy?” Ron asks with a laugh.

One state employee, a female parole officer, denied that the free health care and generous pension was a gravy train — state workers had taken lower pay in the past in exchange for those benefits. The benefits drew her into the state workforce when she was in her 40s. “I saw the health care was free, and I thought that was a pretty sweet deal,” the woman tells me at the Capital Tap Haus in Madison. “I had been in the private sector and I felt like half my paycheck was going to insurance."

That’s exactly what grates on many Wisconsin voters, and it’s why Walker’s support has remained strong in a state that has backed Democrats for U.S. Senate and president in 15 of 16 races going back to 1988.

It's nice to see Wisconsinites take action against the entrenched public sector unions. The silent majority of Wisconsin, which, like most of America, has fallen on tough times and a loss of income, can't stand it when public sector twits bitch about having to pay 1% more towards healthcare benefits.

You know the Wisconsin public unions are fricked up when Rex (Our Rex (Doghead)), came out in support of scott walker in his 2012 election. Rex himself states that he applauded Walker's efforts. Seems like Walker's agenda resonates even with folks like Rex Doghead.

Walker deserves to be in great shape in Wisconsin. If politics was a sport, Walker would have won multiple MVP's by now.

There is not a person in the nation that unions hate more than scott Walker. Even here in California I see union twits complaining about him.

Anyone who judges a person based on whether or not they have a college degree can be dismissed as an elitist snob.

Because of people like Walker and Corey Gardiner, and Marco Rubio-though he hurt himself on immigration, I see the GOP bench as deep. Not forgetting Rand Paul either.

It's the Dems who have nothing to offer but a woman whose greatest accomplishment has been to stay married to a serial adulterer.

What an accomplishment.

You know, I despise the Clintons as much as anyone here.

But she was an elected senator and the secretary of state...but hey whatever turns your knobs.

When I was in politics, I heard the Union leaders really espouse Hatred for Ronald Reagan. Both men, Walker and Reagan, caught their lies and opposition to the max. Trumka's head was exploding against Reagan. I was so shocked in his hatred. It was like Trumka had a mental problem.

Elected Senator from NY that's a tough one for a Democrat.
Secretary of State? Obama put her there to keep an eye on both her and Bill.
What exactly did she accomplish as SoS, besides accumulating frequent flyer miles, the Re-Set, and Ben-You-Know-Who.

Name one thing she accomplished in either of those positions?

He got NAFTA passed. The Westinghouse plant in Ft. Smith, with a couple of thousand employees, eventually shut down their operation with their jobs going to Mexico.

Pretty sure that was the lame duck session before Clinton took office. Another argument against lame duck sessions.

I thought it was the lame duck session in '94 after the Repubs took Congress.
