It has been down for quite some time. but the next few years are looking a lot better

1. Lamar Peters > Skylar Mays (may not be popular going against the 6'2" BR boy but its true. Peters speed/quickness with the ball will give him the ability to beat his man.... at all levels

I feel like we have the coach to recruit the talent too.

I am a little down about this 2015 class; Simmons is still awesome but we may strike out on everyone else that was plan A options like Blakeney, Dickerson, Thomas and Sampson.

It's really better than it has been. Some really good players coming up.

There's a 5 star pf at one of the public schools in New Orleans. He's like in the 2016 class or something

ETA: this guy not turner

Khalea Turner transferred out of Riverside to Findlay Prep.

the drought that went on that coincided with the TJ doldrums was pretty bad but this spate of talented kids has been fun to watch

I don't think we'd have gone after Turner anyway. Don't think the talent outweighs the head-casedness.

We're talking about basketball, we'd take anyone who is a great caliber talent and not in jail.

A lot of people like to talk about how we are consistently 1 of the top states that produces NFL players per capita.... but people fail to realize we do really well with NBA players as well. I think we were 4th in the nation last year.

LINK

The issue is actually getting them to Baton Rouge. But, so far JJ has been able to do that. Hopefully it stays that way.

We need to focus and close the deal with Brandon Sampson. Admit it, everyone knowing the situation thought Ben's commitment and his recruiting thereafter was going to pay off more than it has by this time.

It's later on in the recruiting cycle and time to prepare for more than having a great one and done season and subsequent lottery pick on our resume----only to continue on with the madness of trying to recruit top talent.

What i'm saying is we need to take advantage Ben Simmons unique passing ability by setting him up with a company of shooters and scorers; whereas doing our best to try and actually win a championship.......then the hassle of recruiting gets a whole lot easier.

Antonio Blankney seems like a stud, but hell let's get brandon Sampson on board first. He's explosive and would be a good start. Last time LSU did do well,........ well, the last two times they were littered with home town pride from BR.
big baby and tyrus thomas, Lazarre, bass
and the
marcus thorton and tazmin matchell squad our ole coach stumbled upon his first year.

I believe Bridgewater will play a role this year.

Sampson is a commodity we havn't seen much of in our program. A guard that can finish strong.

Then hopefully we will get one of the
antonio blankley's or Elijah Thomas's out there.

Turner may be a Junior College candidate with his grades. Little stability. He bounces between schools on an annual basis.

Agree on sampson though i wouldnt say we arent trying to close hard...think he is genuinely deciding whether to stay home or "take his talents" somewhere else. He and elijah are my favorite guys in this class, feel like ET wants to go to a basketball school...never say never

I wouldn't quite say that. I'd wager that LSU has two guys that we are definite favorites for.
