Supreme Court blocks TX & WI voter ID law
Posted by PBnJ on 10/10/14 at 7:32 am00
You know, because having asking for ID is discriminatory.
Roughly 2.25% of the population

The law would have left 600,000 Texans, mostly blacks and Hispanics, without sufficient identification to vote in November elections, according to The Associated Press.

We should send out early voting information to all the Ebola patients in Africa - you know, those who might die before the election.

I still can't believe that ppl are upset over someone confirming that they are who they say they are and that they live where they say they live before being able to vote.
I love when a bully likes to decide when people are too poor/incompetent/lazy to handle something on their own, and instead of being insulted by the people directly insulting them, they actually enable the bully and stand behind them.

They're not upset so much as worried that they might have to prove who they are.
The Supreme Court only blocked the Wisconsin law. A federal judge blocked the Texas law.

I can't believe we have judges who wield their opinions over the electorate. Why vote by the populace if one person can overturn the results?

How can that many people not have IDs?

Stupidity, lack of responsibility, apathy. Just the sorts we need to vote.

wow, so in a state like TX where we have thousands of illegals coming across the boarder, we cannot ask for an ID before a person votes. Ridiculous!

Judicial tyranny.

Last night, District Court Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos agreed. In a strongly worded opinion, she said the law discriminated against the state's Hispanic and African American voters,
Hmmm, I wonder why???

Yet it's completely legal for a cop to demand your ID during a traffic stop or a DUI checkpoint.....
What is wrong with liberal fricks who support these standards? I can't wait, and it will happen, when the black vote swings to a pro republican stance! At that instant, liberals will be screaming we need mandatory ID laws at voting booths.
Also, credit cards and merchants can demand an ID to use your credit card in their store to.....wait for it......PREVENT FRAUD!

Good. We should be making it easier to vote, not harder.

How can it get any easier than having a photo id? Seems that would simplify things rather quickly don't you think?

Have you seen voter turnout numbers recently? A lot of that has to do with voter apathy, but engaging more people in the process will eventually produce a more vested and informed voting public.
Neither side really wants that though as it would be a threat to their power and hold on the political process.
