Has anyone else tried Acorns?

I really like it so far.
I'm up to $16.71 after a couple weeks, and I'm about to set up a weekly $5 deposit. I should have HUNDREDS of dollars this time next year!

Same reason Mint doesn't. It requires dual authentication or whatever.

I signed up for this a few months ago for fun, figure I'll use it like a "fun money" savings acct where every few years I'll have a thousand bucks or so I will have accumulated that I can use on a vacation or something random.

Well, how much have you accumulated?

You don't have to answer that if you don't want to.

But also, what is you rate of return and how aggressive were you in your investments?

The fees are steep at $1/month and .5% management fee.

My return is 1.7% after about 3 weeks, so my rate of return will NOT cover the $1 fee if I fail to invest at least $60.

Is it worth it? well, I'm hoping for more than a 1.7% return over the long term.

If people that wouldhave saved $0 are saving $50 and paying a couple bucks in fees and netting at $47 saved, then that is a positive for them even if they don't make a return on the investment.

I like to look at it the same way. I save and invest larger chunks monthly into savings, Roth, DRIPs etc., but why not save an extra $500-600 annually with the potential to have a decent return?

Maybe that'll be my vacation fund.
