Julius Thomas was fined $8,268 for a dirty block.

NFL logic.

If I heard that only Bose headphones were allowed, I'm sure he heard of it too.

Good. Beats are not worth the money and they're part of of this dumb urban culture I'm too old to understand.

The NFL signed an exclusive deal with Bose. There's zero chance that Kaepernick wasn't aware of this.

did you know it's against the rules to engage a defensive player below the thigh when said defensive player is engaged in a block with another player above the waist?

Because if i've heard of it, I'm sure Julius heard of it too.

Not sure of the point you're making.

I'm sorry you misread my post and thought I was saying Kaepernick shouldn't have been fined. The point is comparing the fines of two things that are against NFL rules.

You're telling me headphones are a bigger concern than chop blocks?

From what I read, Clady screwed that up. He was supposed to back up (or get out of the way) while Julius performed the cut block.

One was a mistake, the other was an intention disregard of the NFL's rules. Same thing with fining Jimmy Graham this preseason.

To be fair, defensive players who are going full speed can make that same argument when they're fined for helmet to helmet hits after the ball carrier lowers his head at the last second. They get fined far more than 8K.

Colin Kaepernick had a contract with Beats over a year before the NFL made their deal.

So doesn't matter, if he has them on in NFL Stadium without approval it's a fine.

Just like when Manning went to Reebok from Nike. The NFL switched so he did also.

Is that a penalty?
