I took a bunch of clients there a week ago (there choice) and I enjoyed what I got.

The cup of gumbo was solid and the roast beef poboy is one of the better poboys I have had in BR.

Parrain's is better, in my opinion.

I really like the place and think it is solid. But I think I'm in the minority. People shite all over it and for some reason my wife soured on the place (we were going there pretty regularly for a while).

It gets lumped into the typical "all chains are evil" hate for some reason. I've eaten there several times and all my meals were solid.

It's solid for what it is. As long as your expectations are tempered, it will scratch the itch.

Had a work meeting there. Cool scene and great food and they had 8 Abitas on tap. Didn't see what's not to like

I think it's okay. I'm not crazy about the gumbo at all, but some folks like it. It's just not my personal taste. The chargrilled oysters are pretty good, but they are far from the best. Shrimp poboy has lots of shrimp, but the batter is a bit heavy for my taste. The shrimp aren't very big, so I tasted more batter than shrimp in bites, but the poboys overall are good. I don't think I've had much of anything else. Maybe a shrimp remoulade.

I think it's a nice spot inside. Service is pretty good. Bar area is nice.

For my money for dinner this time of year, I'd rather go sit on the patio at Galatoire's.

for what it is, its good. I happen to like Parrains as well, but I think acme's sandwich selection is a little better.

Twenty bucks for an oyster po-boy tells me they've got delusions of grandeur. Go next door to Galatoire's and get the twenty dollar prix fixe three-course lunch instead.

The prices aren't online, but I remember ACME being extremely overpriced.

^ this. Don't get me wrong, Acme BR's food is not bad, but definitely not worth the price tag.

This is what I started to have an issue with. They always had a good cup of gumbo and a decent roast beef. Started getting smaller portions(less RB, etc).

It just got to where it wasn't a good value anymore. Too many other great places at the price or lower.

Before someone gets their panties in a wad, I don't have a problem with it being a small chain and it is not a horrible place by any stretch.
