i liked the episode. thought the sidekicks all shined and were handled in great ways. our fears about how Laurel would step him have been addressed and the show has displayed it recognizes some fans concerns.

im digging brick since that was a story arc i actually read in the comics. its pretty cool.

im having a hard time with merlyn. he acts like a whipped puppy now more than anything. i miss him being a feared bad arse. i want to see more of his edge and less of his softer side.

i am ready for the suicide squad return

I like Brick also. Hopefully they don't kill him off next week and we can see him back in some future episodes.

In his defense, he is now pitted against a more feared and bigger bad arse than he ever was. But I thought it was kind of goofy/wussy how he reacted to Thea's speech about standing their ground and not backing down. He went from being in a hurry to get the hell out of Starling, to being like "Oh, ok baby girl, we can stay".

Well, he did drug her and make her kill her brother's ex-girlfriend/family friend. So he still has that going for him.

yeah so hes cool with making his daughter kill a friend of her brothers but making her leave home is clearly over the line.

eta: i get they are trying to humanize him and make him more sympathetic to the audeicne, but its just getting a bit too much. he needs to show he can still kick arse.

I was really hoping that Malcolm was going to give Roy a beatdown. I mean, Roy did break into what I guess was Thea's house and tried to threaten him. Malcolm should've showed him the pimp hand for that. That almost bothered me as much as Malcolm going all teddy bear on Thea

That would've been a perfect scene and time to show he is still in control. Letting Roy pump his chest was a missed opportunity. I liked your idea there

Yea I kinda assumed they would find a leftover sample of the Mirakuru that would keep him alive until he healed up, and then use the reversing process from what's his name(red arrow's) blood to undue it.

Really makes more sense than what happened but then this show seems like it's on the verge of jumping the shark.

i wouldnt go that far. it feels like the writers loved the idea of nearly killing oliver but didnt want to get into the explanation of lazarus pits and its side effects.

it looks like they just took the "he wasnt thaaaaaaat bad off" approach and just made him on the verge of death. it basically boils down to them wanting a fantastic "oh shite" moment without having to deal with any messy solutions.

as far as plot devices, there were already viable, good options for keeping him alive without adding more gimmicks,,, they seem to keep trying to one up the last over the top device, thus jumping sharks...

They definitely missed a huge opportunity to bring in the Lazarus Pits.

I actually thought they might bring it into this episode. Unless I missed it, they haven't said why Maseo joined the League. I thought that Katana would die during the rescue attempt and that Maseo would make a deal to join the League if Ra's revived her through the Lazarus Pits.

Did they say Oliver didn't die? She said something about his will to live or something, but I guess that could have been his will to live that allowed him to be revived

I always kind of thought there was supposed to be something extraordinary about Oliver's abilities, strength, healing power, speed.. Maybe not quite superhuman (or meta), but something of a supernatural undertone. I assumed that the flashbacks would kind of show that somehow. Of course he is highly trained, but that doesn't explain everything. In the first episode the doctor even hinted at something beyond belief with regard to scarring and broken bones. I just figured there is more to Oliver than meets the eye..

Nope, he's pretty much batman with a bow and a slightly healthier mental state of mind. It's not like he's some average Joe though, he's in peak physical condition, has a keen tactical mind, a world class archer, and money out the arse.

Am I the only one that is tired of Laurel. I know the show is on CW and they need some girl appeal. But Laurel just blows. I never find myself pulling for her in her fights. I think she is easily the worst character on the show. Maybe it's the actress but I'd be fine if they did away with that character.

I was digging her when she was playing the cutthroat lawyer.

I'm tired of the tears and that horrible face when she gets upset or cries.

I am too. I hope they are going to turn her into a stronger character. She was good in season 1 IMO.
