i had the same sentiment while it was happening. i get what they were trying to do with taking them out of their element, but it just doesnt play as well. cool for one episode, ready to get back into the city.

i actually dug how they are bringing laurel around. they obviously had the same concerns as the fans and made it a point to deal with them. she got her arse kicked, she admits about the training, and wants to be brought along. thought this was a great approach to her character. also keeps her out of team arrow.

idk where they will go with Thea now. i didnt see her coming back so quickly.

do arrow and flash have a designated writer to make "oh shite" endings? theyve mastered how to end an episode


some easter eggs: gerry conway (the assistant) was a big comic book writer and co-creator of firestorm. mark shaw is the character manhunter. the corto people calling thea, "mia" as a nod to speedy.

I can't believe Oliver went all of the way to Corto Maltese and didn't even notice that his sister was hanging with her sociopath father. I was so hoping that we'd get a good shock reveal for ole Oliver.

I've got to give it to the writers, they actually had me believe that Malcolm could train Thea in 5 months (or however long they've been in Corto Maltese). He just had to get a little more physical with her.

And I'll admit to having a chuckle when that wife beater beat Laurel's arse. WTF was she even thinking.

Oh no doubt. I just hope they have her train with Ted for the rest of this season. Then I think she'll have to train with Oliver after that because the training she'll get from Ted won't compare to the type of league training Thea got from Malcolm.

And I caught the Mia reference also. She'll definitely take the Speedy mantle at some point in the future. I'm interested to see what Malcolm's plan is in letting Thea win so she can go back with Oliver (because you know he is up to something).

And yeah, these showrunners sure know how to end an episode. Next week should be good with Nyssa trying to get Oliver to go after Malcolm (if the preview was an accurate depiction of what will go down next week).

Does capt Lance know Sara is dead? Can't remember if a laurel told him or not.

They'll have to thin the herd by the time Laurel and Thea actually join. I could see Roy going off on his own, and Diggle may spend more time with Argus and/or the Suicide Squad.
