Reggie Bush stats.

By this do you mean every time he is about to get the ball he is being hit in the backfield?

This pretty much says it all for me. I'm not disappointed in Cooks, I'm disappointed in Payton.

oh I'm not worried about him AT ALL... just saying I got a little worked up by the off season coverage and developed a case of unrealistic expectations.

people arent satisfied with a guy on pace for 102 catches

would be the most catches by a rookie in nearly 20 years

Not dissapointed in him at all, more dissapointed in our offense as a whole, if we had better play calling/O-Line, I'd expect more.

It's the low ypc for a guy who was brought in to take the top off the defense that's the problem. And I'm not blaming him for it.

Yes but we're using him like Lance Moore instead of Desean Jackson.

Im starting to hate the bubble screen to him. It just seems forced.

I know we didn't trade up in the 1st round to get a speed receiver to run nothing but bubble screens.

Not disappointed in him at all. He's an excellent player.

I'm glad Payton has given him rushing attempts, like I figured he would. Very similar to what Harvin does.

However, I'm frustrated that he hasn't been used for any deep passes. He runs a 4.3. I think he'll progress more though, and we'll see some big plays. His projected stats are pretty close to what I guessed.

Once the oline gets their shite together(I'm assuming they will at some point), Brees will start carving up defenses and everybody should have better numbers.

well he's filling a role that has been important in our offense since Payton's been here. Almost exactly how i thought he'd be used. They have tried him deep on a few occasions and just missed. Our OL cant buy Brees any time on deep throws.

Also keep in mind he just turned 21, he's young, and a rookie obviously. I think this role may be the easiest for him to make an immediate impact.

He is second in almost every category behind Jimmy Graham.

i think we all just expected a lot more out of the offense.

He's been pretty good so far. The only thing I really dislike about Cooks is how he tries to avoid any contact. This causes him to stutter and lose speed when he could easily just keep running in a decisive manor and NOT lose that speed. If you want a good example of a decisive runner who is the opposite of Cooks, look no further to Pierre Thomas. Best in the league at that (especially on the screens.)

Well yeah but he's also much bigger and stronger than Cooks. I agree about him being indecisive though. I think he will get the hang of it with time.

Look at this:

Cooks - 5 ft 10 189 lbs
Percy Harvin - 5 ft 11 184 lbs

Very similar size/weight. Harvin is obviously a more decisive runner (comes with experience.) Hopefully we will see the same out of Brandin Cooks in the future. The stuttering just kills me though, especially considering how fast he runs...

guess I'm waiting for that Sproles/Bush moment, where he makes one guy miss and just burns rubber for a TD. Or something like a double move and just blows the top off the safety for some 60-70 yard TD.

Bush didn't score a touchdown until his 5th game and it was on a punt at the end of the game. And it was an awesome touchdown that won the game. I was at the dome and was blown away by how fast he was.

So Cooks does this in the Cowboys game you'll be happy.

He does have the Reggie Bush stutter step syndrome though.

I think he'll turn out to be a better WR than Harvin, but I don't think he'll ever run with as much power. Regardless of weight...some people just have it in them. Steve Smith also...he just has it in him.

I was expecting us to throw it to him downfield more often.
