franchise qb's before their prime aren't traded first of all.

Even past his prime, he will still be a top 10 qb for the next 3 years EASILY.

Drew stands for everything this organization wants in their leadership with hard work, positive attitude, dedication, etc.

We need to keep padding the frick out of his stats

Jimmy Graham and a great run game will be a young qb drew replacement's best friends for his first couple years.

Because Drew, that's who, now frick you

theretically yes
realistically, drew retiring a saint is probably more important.

Let's remember that even Manning was cut.

bc he missed an entire year, they sucked arse and got top pick of the draft and had a once in a 10 year player fall into their lap while their big necked qb was coming back from a procedure that wasn't very well known how he would do.

Even though Drew Brees isn't hurt, we're talking about a similar situation with the once in a 10 year player being the exact same player.

Yes, you make that trade. Immediately.

so aside from drew not being hurt
luck not being available
our team not in a rebuilding mode
luck is about to get paid biggest contract ever
all things are near equal huh.

I'm gonna say the same thing I said about this in the offseason when this thread was posted.

No. Not even thinking about it. Sorry.

Jimmy means nothing to me in this equation. You can take him out. But Drew.....

Drew is that light at the end of the tunnel. A 50 years-in-the-waiting bright spot a the end of a really, really dark tunnel. And he has shone like the sun. We as Saints fans owe him EVERYTHING. And I would not trade him for anything. I wouldn't trade him for 10 Oakland 1st round picks. He is my guy. He saved this franchise. We would be in San Antonio if not for him. I want to be a good team in the future but I do not want it enough to give away a guy who stands head and shoulders above everyone else in our franchises history.

Crazy how just 3-4 months ago very few people here would trade brees for luck straight up and now many are willing to include graham.

They cut manning because the questions surrounding his neck, the biggest prospect since him fell on their lap, and they knew they were in rebuild mode so winning with Manning would delay that.

Everyone knew after that year, they weren't going all the way with Manning or Jesus on that team.

Hypothetically speaking if we trade our only viable receiving threat what would be the point of getting Luck?

HELL YES. I love Brees. My favorite player, favorite qb ever. But Andrew Luck is the real deal. only a year or 2 from being THE BEST qb in NFL and possibly the galaxy.

Andrew Luck is the future.
