Got caught in a storm today

Took this video while running from a storm. I had to run straight into it to get back to the ramp. 40+ mph wind, slowed me down by 5mph. Had to stop video when the rain got heavy...

That's motorboating. Been there, seldom are able to outrun them.

No I pilot.
I was out running it easily but I got wet when I had to turn back towards it to get to the ramp. I was fishing in some marsh north of burnout bridge and had to run back to the launch at the vinton drain ditch.

Had that happen about 5 years ago. I was in a 16' flat with my kid (about 9 or 10 yrs. old then) and we were fishing out in Lake Borgne. There were squalls in just about every direction and I thought I could dodge them. Got caught when they converged, and it was HEAVY lightning and rain. Ran for cover under the bridge by the Rigolets and tied to a cable hanging from the bridge. When the boat got pushed sideways and 3 ft. waves were crashing over the side, I felt like a dipshit. Had to cut my rope and make a run for it. After about a 10-15 minute run with lightning everywhere, we found cover under one of the Hwy. 90 bridges up the Pearl. There was what looked like a rope sitting on top the wood under the bridge, and I grabbed it to tie off to. It was actually a cable, and it shocked the F#%K out of me. The second it happened, I honestly thought I was dead. I was literally feeling body parts and checking my pulse after I was able to let go. That had to be the scariest day of my life - mostly because my kid was on board and I should have come in before the storms got close. Don't ever gamble with that shite over a few fish.

Is that the Majek from a few years back?
I fished an industry tournament with a vendor on Friday in West Galveston Bay, and while we were fishing a guy in a SCB Stingray hit the intercoastal, gassed it, and proceeded to catch air and get tossed from the boat. High pressure moved in and he had a decently stiff headwind when it happened. Luckily he was ok but the SCB was jacked up pretty bad. We went around the intercoastal picking up his hatch covers and seats floating in the water, gave it back to him and let the other boats tend to the guy so we could get back to fishing since it was close shut it down time. The guy did say he has had that boat for 2.5 years and nothing close to that has ever happened. You just never know, so you guys be careful out there.

Weather can make shite get bad in a hurry out on the water. Thankfully you were in protected waters. I ran back from pelto through this one about a month back. Had to make the wife and kids huddle in the console. Oh and your boat looks like it scoots pretty good

A few years back me and a buddy were fishing in the same area when a storm came up on us in a matter of minutes.
Lightning popping off and quarter sized hail and we had no top on the boat. We ended up running the boat into some grass, jumped over the side, and held the cushion from the icechest/captain's chair over our heads until the storm passed. Had to keep alternating what hand to hold the cushion with because the hail was cracking the bejeezus out of our knuckles.
That's the most intense situation I've ever had on the water.
