Patrick had off field issues? I figured he was just cut because he was beyond awful.

Remember the player that bad-mouthed Spags? I think reports pointed to J. Patrick because the first thing that happened right after that was him being cut.

Like what? There are things that I haven't agreed with since the offseason (drafting SJB, PIerre Warren not even being on the PS), but nothing major. I am probably head of the Warren bandwagon, but our depth at safety to start the season was pretty deep. On the other hand, our OL depth is terrible. If Jones was anything decent, he would have easily made the team, or another team.

Yeah, but I thought that was pretty much confirmed that it was Shanle. He came out after he was cut and said something publicly, and that report came from Holder, who often cited Shanle.

What a stupid fricking thing to do, especially when you're that close to being able to play. I actually thought Fortt was going to be the one to break our shitty LB draft streak. I wish we could have just punished him by suspending him the rest of the season, fine, IR, but can't blame Coach for not taking shite from a rookie screw up.

Seems like you would go through the CBA approved path to suspend him without pay first, if only to take money out of his pocket because you knew another team would pick him up. Especially the Bengals or Raiders. lol.
