#1 in Total Offense
#27 in Total Defense (progress)
Last in Turnover Margin (this can be corrected)

These are reasons to be optimistic? If anything the last one offsets the first one.

And as Tigerw/erandomnumbers has pointed out, we are forced to let Evans play out his contract and we can do nothing about it.

Drew's QBR is #14, but if he cuts the picks, it will go way up. Not sure what Ryan can do with the secondary, though.

Compared to where we were, 27 is better than 32.

You have to think turnovers won't continue at this torrid pace and the D will get some picks.

In order for him to cut his picks we will need to:

Run better
Run more consistently
improve oline play
stop dropping the ball
call better routes
call better plays in general

There are a list of problems and non of them are "easily fixable" despite what they keep feeding the fans.

I liked the "five reasons to be optimistic" thread a couple of weeks ago better

Yeah, we are about to run out of "reasons".

I think rather than reasons to be optimistic, there are reasons not to throw in the towel yet. But we're getting close

Why do i have to think that? Brees and Payton are saying that they will after every game.

"we aren't changing anything. We have a gameplan and we will continue to run it. When it clicks, watch out"

Couple statements like that with the deplorable oline and refusal to put the ball in a running backs hands and i think they'll just increase.

If after two weeks of planning we play like crap again
In detroit (win or lose) then I will find little hope for the rest of the season.

Well, the #1 total offense is #1. A few of those yards came when the Dallas game was out of reach, but the rest were in competitive game situations. I can't blame Brees and Payton for wanting to stay the course and try to remedy the turnovers.

27 is indeed better than 32 so at least there has been some improvement in the defense.

we need our play action to be effective. Its really not, our run game is effective. We need to say frick you, we're going to pound you into oblivion and then we'll go Deep Short to Cooks or a meachem.

NVM, I'm depressed again.

Agree

Also number one in turnovers. You don't win like that.

frick Brees and Payton. Payton's playcalling is bland and unbelievably easy to figure out. His genius and fire is gone. And our team seems unmotivated and frustrated. They never used to look like that. Even when we didnt win.
Brees is making terrible decisions in crucial moments in the game. He needs to cut that shite out.

Absolutely. The first half of the game we should pound the rock damn near every first and second down. Wear down the defense, make them respect the run, then in the second half open up play action and pump fakes and screens.

Robinson is averaging 5 yards a carry. So more often than not he'll get us the first or a third and short after 2 runs. Ingram is coming back and PT is an animal as usual. There is no reason to not run t the first 5 plays of a game.
