Just kidding. They last longer and have more on the road than GMC and Chevy.

Buffs or F250s, the OB can only argue about one thing at a time. This may have to wait.

Only because Chevy and GMC split numbers you combine their totals and it blows ford out the water...

In all likelihood they're most likely talking about the 7.3 F250s I'm assuming. The 6.0's seem to eventually all have trouble pre-200k, the 6.4 has turned into a total shitbox, and the 6.7 is really still kind of early to tell though there are a few over 200k out there in stock trim.

I had been wanting to track down my dad's old 97 7.3 F350(CC/SW/Longbed/4x4) and hopefully buy it back at some point. Ran into the guy I last knew who had it just last week. He recently sold it to a group of Mexicans so my hopes of tracking it down are lost. It had 220k miles when it was sold in 06, it had rolled 400k when he sold it to the mexicans. Still the orginal engine, never rebuilt.

The truck will fall apart around a well maintained 7.3

Extremely well designed engine. Far better than the 5.9 cummins IMO.

Color was actually great in person when it was all cleaned up. Like a metallic sky blue. This one had an automatic unfortunately.

I want and love the F250's but I have no NEED for one since I don't haul heavy stuff.

Is the better MPG worth it over gas?

You can buy a wholeeeee lot of gas with what the diesel option plus maintenance cost.

Modern HD gassers are cheaper to own over the life of the vehicle than the diesels.

Yes. Only if you're pulling a whole lot is it worth it

What better milage? Modern diesels, especially the Fords, have pretty much gone backwards in milage. Combine that with diesel being about $0.50/gallon more expensive and there's more of a downfall than a benefit. If you don't need a diesel, don't buy a diesel.

The 7.3's did decent. With no load and not driving like an a-hole I'd get 20-22 on the interstate in my 2wd 7.3 F350. The Cummins do well from what I've gathered. I don't have any experience with them but I'm constantly impressed with my dad's '14 Cumming 6.7. It'll get 20+ cruising the interstate with ease, my '12 Ford 6.7 gets about 14 doing the same.

I went through this same thing forever. In all honesty, my F150 was probably more truck than I need. I think I could easily get by with a Tacoma at this stage of my life.

However...just got a F250 and it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. It's definitely not the most practical vehicle for my needs, but it sure is fun to drive.

I feel like most cities/contruction companies tend to use Fords more than Chevys. since they are looking to cut expenses they probably tend to keep their trucks in service longer than a typical person using it as a daily driver would.

That being said. My Tahoe will be bumping the percentage up in a couple of weeks when I hit 200k.
