LINK

I had to stop bidding once it got past $60k. Not that I can't afford it, but with my 2 month Mediterranean Yachting hiatus coming up I figured I could put that money to better use.

It's probably more like businesses, maybe even Apple, bidding on it.

Who says they have to use official accounts?

Could also just be people fricking with the auction and not intending to pay...

He is forcing people to contact him directly for the bids to stay active for low feedback individuals, you never really know.

high profile auctions tend to attract all kinds of flakes. i cant think of any off the top of my head but i know there have been several auctions ruined by people who maintain throwaway accounts with a few purchases on them just to frick with people.

I'm giving it about a 10% chance he actually gets paid for that item.

It happened a while back when the radeon hd 7990 was being released. Someone got their hands on one about a month prior to release, and the ending bid ended somewhere around $90k. It ended up not being paid
