Five0
The reasonable suspicion aspect is a broad and easily abused justification for what just happened. If the stop was legal write her a ticket and get on down the road. Why do you need to identify everyone. The passenger has not violated anything and is under no suspicion of anything. He has no obligation to identify himself unless operating the vehicle and a license necessary. You are going to quote some state law or other tripe I am sure. Me I will quote the constitution and a citizens rights under the fourth amendment.
You know people used to roll their eyes at the fear of police in the black community. Now the mistrust is universal.

I have also articulated certain acts and behaviors that the court deemed sufficient to justify a reasonable suspicion

Love that you are making this personal. Everything I've posted has been based on case law.
Please back up your assertion that I am posting "tripe" simply because you disagree with it. I don't agree with every court decision but I abid by them.

Not personal at all, but I've seen enough to know under which guise police violate a citizens rights.
If that doesn't apply to you then bravo. But my statement on the lack of trust and support from John Q Citizen due to the constant barrage of abuses from money grabs to unlawful searches and dogs giving silent signals while walking around a vehicle.
The tactics police use now often times are as dubious as criminals.

Specifically, which tactics have passed judicial scrutiny?

Depends on the individual circumstances. What do you do when no one is charged and no one claims the property? Happens more than you think.
My example would be the FISA courts and executive action on citizens involved in strictly criminal issues inside the U.S.

It never said they lost the money.
However:
So the entire stop that lead to the seizure was based on claims by the trooper that either can’t be verified or are clearly contradicted by dash-cam video.
Even if they were moving ill gotten currency, the above gets it suppressed.

It did say they spent $30,000 in legal fees. How much of that went to the MJ charge, I don't know, and the author is certainly biased. However, there are a lot of stories like this. Especially in Tennessee.

Apparently, we have an epidemic on our hands.
Cops smash passenger window and taze passenger during seat belt stop; two kids in back seat

There was another complaint of excessive force by police after a seatbelt traffic stop. They were on their way to Chicago to the hospital to see the woman's dying mother.
Woman driver, male passenger and 2 kids in the back seat.
Police broke the passenger window and tased the adult male passenger more than once.

All charges dropped
Good.
:eyeroll:
Wow.
Damn right.

All charges against a Sandusky couple have now been dropped following a controversial Oct. 1 traffic stop.
Good.
quote:
Denny was subsequently placed on a one-month suspension for his actions during and after the encounter, as he was found to have violated several departmental rules, including making false statements, showing signs of dishonesty and being disrespectful.
:eyeroll:

But on Friday, Sandusky city prosecutor Lynne Gast-King dropped both of their obstruction charges without prejudice.
"The elements of the charged offense of obstructing were not established," Gast-King said.
But the prosecutor said the pair still appeared to have acted unlawfully:
"All of the elements of Failure to Comply with the Order of a Police Officer were present and would have applied to the conduct of both of these individuals. Law enforcement officers have been informed that, in the future, Failure to Comply should be charged under this fact pattern," she said.
Wow.
quote:
Stockett addressed Gast-King's comments Monday:
“The charges had to be dropped. I'm not happy, I'm not upset —they're dropped because they had to be dropped. The reason I am upset...is instead of her admitting that the police department is completely at fault, what she did was push the blame back on us, that we could have been charged with something else,” he said.
“There's no way in the world that you should imply what we did was wrong, because that only (implies) what the officer did was right,” Stockett said.
Damn right.

Denny is scheduled to return to work in mid-December.

This is the kind of stuff that people need to protest about and champion. Not some piece of shite like Mike Brown.
